This could start a serious debate, I am sure. If you read some of my other responses, you\'ll know that I am in the \"Snape-is-unpleasant-and-petty-but-actually-a-good-person\" camp. I really believe this. The hardest thing about my story (and the most fun!) will be trying to explain his behaviour to my readers. Stay tuned...
PS ~ Again, go back to HBP - I think DD asked Snape to kill him if things escalated to a certain point. Think about that conversation Hagrid overheard between the two of them....

Author's Response: It surely is, Silver Phoenix. Really, when you think about it, Snape is JKR\'s most INTERESTING (if not the nicest or most noble) character because his motives and behavior are so at odds with each other.
