Hi!
My name's Alex. I'm an English teenager with a love of writing (though I tend to spend so long planning that the actual story never gets written...)
*I'm recently getting back into the fandom after an embarrassingly long, International-Baccaluareate- induced absence. I was PI-accredited, but lost the account during my hiatus - I may get myself re-accredited, if I have enough time.* I hope to squeeze in a few fics (and maybe even get some original fiction written...) inbetween doing a degree in Archaeology and Anthropology at Cambridge and occasionally getting a bit of sleep...!
Oh, wow! This is so gorgeous! It feels almost poetic, like a Greek epic!
I love the way we really get inside Fawkes' head. I've never found a Fawkes-fic, and I pity any others I find, because I'll have such a high expectation after this!
It's also interesting to hear what he thinks about his own mortality, and that of life in general. This must be such a strange thing for a Phoenix.
There are a couple of breaks in the paragraphing, and it might be nice if you could fix them, but it's not a huge problem.
To finish; these little phrases kept popping into my head as I read!
"What we call "progress" is but the exchange of one nuisance for another."
"Nothing endures but change..."
Author's Response:
*squishes you*
*points out that this won\'t get you extra points in WWW & MoM*
*is teasing*
I\'ll fix them right away
*squee* I love getting quoted in reviews; it means the reviewer really paid attention and really appreciated something in the fic. So thank you for reading!
I like this so far. I wanna know what's in the diary!!!!! Please write soon . . .
WOW! I only got into Humor fics a couple of weeks aga and this has the potential to be one of the funniest so far! I just hope you can rhyme better than I can because it'll kinda suck otherwise!
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm flattered! I can say much for my rhyming skills but I shall give you a little taster as to was I cad do:
My reviewers all rule,
Much more than school,
Harry Potter has this jest,
Which nobody can detest!
Maybe not! Thanks for reviewing :)

Author's Response: :):):)

Author's Response: I made some spelling mistakes in my first reply! Sorry...Chapter 2 in queue...thanks for reviewing again :)
Aw! I actually really enjoyed this!
This is one of the few fics I've read that doesn't turn Lily/Snape into (A) a huge hidden romance, or (B) something that reads like a Parody, belonging in the Humour section!
I also like the way he's quietly assessing everyone - you can see how he becomes the critical professor we all know and... Well, some of us love! The whole idea of the organ was lovely, too; something really unique (I don't think I've read anything like it before).
Overall, I love it!
Author's Response: Aw, thanks! This is basically a missing chapter from my long fic, so if you liked the Lily/Severus interactions here you\'d probably keep liking them there as well. I\'m not sure he\'s ever good at romance, exactly, but he and Lily worked very well for me as friends. The organ seemed the sort of thing Harry would simply overlook -- and so would most other people -- so I was comfortable slipping the thing into the Great Hall as though it had been there all along.
I've just realised how horribly rude I've been! You made me a wonderful Luna songfic banner a few weeks ago, and I completely forgot to come and review your fics!
*ahem*
I really liked reading this side of Minerva. She's one of those timeless characters that I fine so hard to imagine young. Do you know what I mean? But this fic... It's made me able to picture a younger Minerva. I can certainly envision her as a feminist, too!
Lol! Seriously funny stuff! Why does this seem so realistic? Especially the Elf bits. I could totally see this interview happening. Really, really good!
Author's Response: Thank you very much! I was trying to mimic the magazine interview style, so I\'m glad it worked. I couldn\'t resist the \'amde by elves\' gag. :)
April showers bring May...hassles? Bridesmaid blues and big trouble from small favours complicate Tonks' life when all she wants is to bring her love for Remus into full bloom.
You've never seen Johnny English? Why on Earht not? 'Tis a great film! And, funnily enough, stars Rowan Atkinson - odd coincidence...
OMG I haven't seen Blackadder for aaages! It's an awesome show! Baldrick rocks!
Author's Response: I was turned off by bad reviews, lol. I\'d love to put a Baldrick character in my stories, heh.
Teddy... Hm, where have I heard that name before? Bizzare coincidence!
I love weddings - real and fictional! *sends love to Lora and Gerald*
Do we see more of Sendak in future fics? I forget... *has Bubbles moment* I think he's one of my favourite characters, lol...
Author's Response: Thank you for liking Sendak! I haven\'t found a way to work him into the storyline again, but that doesn\'t mean he won\'t be seen again. :) As for Teddy, I wish Jo would\'ve thought like me and kept them alive to raise him! Sigh. Oh well, at least in my dimension of the Potterverse they will!
I kinda missed Evan - you know that the party's really beginning when he shows up! ;)
Lol, just been looking at old review responses:
1. Giggling at the "classic" music. I'm pretty eclectic, but I don't tend to listen to anything from before the 90's. Still, each to their own... (though I can totally see Tonks loving a bit of Mika! ;v) )
2. As for Beta-ing, I may take you up on that one-shot offer one day. I think I can see a few potential "alternative perspectives" to my current story! Well, we'll see...
Author's Response: All music is fabulous. You just need the right songs from the right eras! :D
Evan\'s like Draco, a snarky Slytherin I\'ll always have a soft spot for. ^_~
Kill Julia? Never! Robin Tonks and her Merry... Werewolf-partner, Animagus-cousin and other miscellaneous misfits... will not allow it!
Hm... This has got me thinking... How do your OC's fit into the Battle of Hogwarts, and DH in general? Will they all make it through?
Ooh, I'd never even considered that they might not... Of course they can all make it through, can't they...? :(
Author's Response: Exactly! :)
The OC\'s aren\'t part of the Order of the Phoenix, so they won\'t show up at the battle. I actually plan to end the DH fic well before that, so it has a happy ending. Only in the \'after\', AU story will Tonks have to deal with the guilt she feels for leaving Teddy.
Ooh, I've just realised who Jerry reminds me of; Boff, from Johnny English (good film, that - a nine year olds Austin Powers)! Loyal, good-hearted, very competent, a good sense of honour... And a little bit naive. XD
PS. Jack called - he wants his compass back! :(
Author's Response: I love Blackadder, but I\'ve never seen Johnny English! There\'s an actor named Jerry O\'Connell that inspired Jerry\'s characterization. I\'d say \'Poor Jack\' but I feel much sorrier for Will!
Once upon a time in the far, far, away land of California, Miranda Aramintha Rowena Ysabella Slyvia Ursula Evangelista- Mary Sue, for short- accepted an invitation to Hogwarts. As she searches for her one true love, will her soul mate be Draco? Harry? Snape? Colin? Fred and George? or...gasp...Voldemort?
Nominated for a Quicksilver Quill for Best Humour Fiction.
*snorts* Classic! Mary-sue is my favourite character! Well, in fics like this ... Onto the prequal!
Author's Response: I agree, it has to be on purpose, lol. I once read a fic where the thirty year old Sue who mothered her way into Remus\' heart ended up with Hermione as maid of honour and Harry as her Lamaze coach. If it had been a parody, I would\'ve laughed so hard, but as it was, I scoffed \'Of course Hermione is your new bff- the only friends you have are the ones you leech onto at Hogwarts, witch!\' and then I threw a wadded up piece of paper at the screen in a juvenile but satisfying gesture. :D
*snort*
This is amazing! The cliches were just ... Ooh! This is going straight to my favourites!
'Nuff said!
Author's Response: Hehehe. Thank you so much. Yay! It\'s in your favourites! :)
In the far, far away land of California, where the moon was in the seventh house, and Jupiter aligned with Mars, an Aquarian girl was called to Hogwarts, met the Marauders, and let her love steer the stars!
*Groovy prequel to Mary Sue, I love you!*
Nominated for a Quicksilver Quill for Best Humour Fiction.
I laughed myself silly! *takes a deep breath* Really funny and very true. The number of serious fics that read like this *shakes head* ...
Author's Response: Merci! The thing they leave out, though, is romantic moments! I mean, c\'mon, if you\'re gonna give readers a Sue, give them a Sue who gets some romantic action, please. Sheesh! :D
After eviscerating Mary Sue in fiction, Mary Sue, I love you! and Mary Sue, Marauders love you!, I was seized by the irresistible urge to skewer her in sonnet. (my version of one, anyway, choosing content over iambic pentameter :D) Shakespeare's 18th sonnet, Shall I compare thee..., was my inspiration, since when it comes to Mary Sue fics, (including the humorous ones) So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see, So long lives this, and this gives life to thee....
*Rated 3rd-5th only due to a belief that younger readers shouldn't be exposed to unpleasant 'facts of life' like Mary Sue. ^_~ *
"Sugar coated poison is Mary Sue." There's nothing else to say ...
Author's Response: You start reading, think it isn\'t sooo bad- then you keel over, LOL. Thanks for reviewing! ^_^
Ooh, this is wonderful!
I loved their interactions - Andromeda and Nymphadora, and Bellatrix with both of them. It was nice to see the more human side of Bellatrix, because she's so fanatical in the books. I agree with you said about her being different before Azkaban. It makes you wonder how she would've been if she hadn't gone...
As for that little speech about the shell, I thought it was a lovely message. This line here - “It is also important to remember that we can usually wash the bad stuff away.” - struck me as the type of thing Nymphadora would tell Remus, for some reason. I think it'd be nice if you could trace it back to something like this...
Author's Response: Awww...thanks so much. I am particularly proud of this little story.
This is actually the story that got me so attached to Bella. And one day I do plan to write a bit of a sequal to it. Something where Bellatrix has another run-in with her niece, probably during the war when they should be trying to kill each other.
Anyway, thanks agaiin. :D:D
Ooh, my! I love it, especially the way you've built the relationship almost entirely without dialogue. I find this type of fic so interesting, because of the potential for Sirius and Regalus...
Anyway, completely adore it!
Author's Response: Aww, thank you. I\'m so glad you liked it.
:)

Author's Response: Double Review? Haha, thanks.
