Thank you for your amazing honesty. This is beautifully written. Having been there, done that, got the scars (literally and figuratively) I want to say you CAN make it. You CAN come out the other side. If you'd ever like to talk send me a message on my LJ. I'd be happy to listen.

What Better Way by MagEd

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: I hadn't seen him since I was eleven, but he had a rather distinct look about him. It was hard, after all, to forget that black hair that stuck up in the back and the bright green eyes behind those glasses. And the scar — I had always thought it neat to have a scar shaped like a lightening bolt.

Jane Martin sees the odd, quiet boy she went to primary school with years ago in a jewellery shop and she's shocked to see how much things have changed for the boy with taped glasses and baggy clothes. *one-shot*

This is so lovely, both the gutwrenching view of Harry as a lonely little boy, and the joyful view of the nervous young man in love. Great job!

Author's Response: Thanks! Harry must have had such a sad childhood, but everything ends up so happy for him! I'm glad you liked the story :)

Author's Response:

Hello DaisyMaeEvans,

well, I'm very flattered that you think so highly of it! Trying to inject a little humour into George's grief was the only way I could bear to write this because I'm still gutted myself at Fred's death (who isn't)!

And thank YOU so much for R & R-ing!

I'm really enjoying this story! Loved the tip of the hat to "Daughters of the Witching Hill" too-one of my favorite books. Good work!

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I admit that your comments about "Daughters of the Witching Hill" confused me. I have neither read (nor even heard of) the book. However, after some research, I think that I will! I know about the Pendle Witch trials, and the names of the (real-life) “witches.” I pinched a few names. -N-
