My name is Camille, and I'm enjoying writing a lot more now that I'm not forced to write zillions of essays for school. I'm majoring in engineering, and, of course, most engineering types are allergic to the written word, including most of my instructors! I absolutely love the Harry Potter books, and now that I've discovered them, I can't stay away from the fanfictions either.

Blanket disclaimer:
I don't want to do this for every story, so I'll just put it here.
I don't intend copyright infringement with any of my fanfics, nor do I make any money from them. This is the world that JKR built - not me!

Background Secrets by Calaidi

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: What if Harry and Draco were really friends behind all the insults and fights with each other? When would it have started and where would it end? Major spoilers for books 3,4,5,6. HPDM, FGL, BZSF, OWOC, poss RWHG, rating may go up

I never thought I'd like a DH fic, but this is tastefully done. I like how you go into the hows and whyfors of how the relationship came to be. So many seem to just all of a sudden proclaim that DM and HP don't hate each other anymore, and the reader is left wondering where it all came from.

Senses by Gryffinpuff

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Sense: a word of so many meanings. This is a story about senses. The common sense notion of self preservation that is lost when friends are in need, the senses of the body that can be damaged so easily, and the intuitive senses of the heart that tell you when things have changed. R/Hr focused with a little bit of H/G, not a lot of fluff, with rotating views between the characters on a truly horrific day.

Hey! You faked me out there at the beginning; I thought Hermione was dead. I almost cried twice anyway reading this chapter, and it takes a lot to make me cry.

A New Day by hallie_p

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: The battle has ended and Molly takes a few moments to reflect on both the past and the future.

I like. You make all the characters very human; very real.

Author's Response: That\'s what I was trying for. Thanks for the awesome review!

What Lies Within by j4fun

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: This story is post HBP. The funeral service has ended and students are headed home aboard the Hogwarts Express. Most everyone is still stunned over the events of the last several days. Our trio is no exception. Harry would really prefer to close his eyes and just disappear for a bit. Unfortunately, he doesn't have that luxury. There is so much more for him to do, so much more for him to figure out. Time is running out and things have never seemed so near impossible. Harry has to find and destroy the remaining Horcruxes, and then face his greatest nemesis. Can he protect those he loves? Can he protect himself? Can he meet his ultimate destiny?

While we wait for the release of Deathly Hallows, I thought it would be fun to see how far my own imagination would take me. All of it, of course, has been inspired by Rowling's beloved magical world.

Note: No DH references are included. Chapters 1 - 25 were written, with 1 - 20 posted before the release of DH, and I delayed reading DH until the final chapters were written.

Enjoy.

I really liked this; I hope you keep going with it. Everyone's in character, and the events are believable and well-paced. I wish Ron and Hermione had gone with Harry to the Dursleys', though.

Author's Response: I\'m really glad you liked it. I\'ve drafted about 10 chapters, so there will be definitely be more coming soon. Thanks for the review.

Dual Ties by Samarachelle

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: (Hints of Child Abuse) First Year, AU in Potion's class. Snape grasps what he otherwise would have missed. Looks may -not- be deceiving, but in a different way than he had even considered...

Wow! I don't often leave reviews, but - wow! That was well-written. I love seeing a realistic, softer side of Snape. Everyone's in character, too.

Author's Response: Sorry for the late response - thank you so much for reviewing, doubly since you don\'t do it often =) I\'m glad you liked it!

Potter's Pentagon: The Five (Book One) by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: WARNING! This story contains a jingle-bell antler headband, a shower of potatoes, boy/girl mushiness, underwear karaoke, family trouble, an excessively adorable werewolf, death, the song "Werewolves of London," betrayal, and the word 'Jordan' five times in a row near the beginning of chapter seven.

Twenty-one years after Voldemort's defeat, five fourth-years are faced with a new threat. Will all of the five stay true to the light side? Will they all emerge whole in the end? Will Jordan Potter ever get a life? You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll gasp, you'll sigh! Part one in a trilogy!

Well, after much deliberation and consideration, I've decided to submit my future-gen trilogy! This particular installment is three years old, so it's definitely different from my current writing style, but I'm quite fond of the characters.

DH is disregarded. It's a total coincidence that one of the main characters is named Ted Lupin.

Starring Quicksilver Quills 2008 Best Male Original Character runner-up Jordan Potter, Best Female Original Character nominees Ivy Potter, Haley Potter, and Emma Weasley, and Best Male Original Character nominee Ted Lupin!

Five times nominated (once for each member of Potter's Pentagon!) for the Best Post-Hogwarts story in the 2007 Quicksilver Quills Awards, and nominated for Best Post-Hogwarts story in the 2008 Quicksilver Quill Awards...

My favorite characters were definitely Jordan and Ivy - I love a complicated backstory. I thought Emma was awfully insensitive at the beginning.

Author's Response: Thanks very much! I do like backstory. Now, as for Emma... I agree, she\'s very insensitive. That\'s definitely her worst flaw. But remember that at this point, Emma\'s worst enemy is Tyrone. She really hates him. How much would most people worry if they unintentionally offended their least favourite person?

Confrontation by ariaelf

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Hermione has had enough of her insufferable potions master and his ludicrously unfair grading system, and in her fifth year at Hogwarts, this talented witch finally decides to prove she knows a thing or two about mixing a potion even the masterful Snape doesn’t suspect.

Ha! Snape gets his comeuppance. I can so see Hermione doing that, too.

Author's Response: Thank-you for your review!
