Lacrima Serpentis by Insecurity

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: This story is set in the dystopian society of Wizarding England under the control of Voldemort. Fifteen years after leaving Hogwarts, Harry Potter is in hiding; he fears the words of the Prophecy and has lost the will to fight. This story tells the tale of an adult Hermione who sacrifices everything: her family, her moral beliefs and eventually her dignity, in order to save the Wizarding world. She becomes a Death Eater under the recommendation of someone she barely trusts. She struggles to find the courage and strength, but with every choice she makes she gets deeper and deeper into danger.

Chapter 33 is finally up. Thank you for your support and patience..

What happened to everyone else? Taking the dead for granted works for only so long before the lack of information begins to get frustrating. So tell us: what happened? Who died, and how? Relive the Final Battle, or at least go over whom of the Order were systematically killed. Please.

Author's Response: I am really crap at writing battle scenes so the confrontation Hermione had with the three D.E\'s is all you\'re getting. In my next chapter, answers are given in bucket loads, but it\'s set some time after the battle. It\'s a finishing off chapter that will hopefully reduce the temptation to write a sequel. So, keep your eyes peeled! Laura xxx

Between Now and Then by erikthephantom

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: In this riveting sequel to the "acclaimed" Veiled Revelations, Voldemort has risen to his full strength and is threatening both the wizarding world and the muggle world in an attempt to gain total control. A small group of people - the Order of the Phoenix - are all that stand in his way. Join James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, and Lily Evans as they battle the most evil wizard the world has ever seen. (Reviews are always nice and appreciated - and Erik has rated this story 6th-7th years as a result of her incorrigible pride).

Another perfectly heart-rending chapter. And not the last? Gee golly, I'm drooling for the ultimate end. Ah, the pain of the Marauders: Sirius and Remus, may ye find peace in Death, and in Life (respectively).

Oh, terrible, saddening theatric irony. The success of your story, and the Marauder Years as a whole, is assured because you made me FEEL the pathos, and the pain of their coming loss. You brilliantly built the connection between reader and character, and although we knew, from the beginning, that they were doomed, the breaking of that connection is a bitter pill to swallow. brava.

Probably the best fan fiction I've ever read, albeit because you broke so far away from the monotony of everyone else's formulae. I'd like to see a continuation: while this would obviously be a huge amount of work, something with this much potential deserves to be given into life. I'm not asking for a change in writing style, though, not in a thousand years. The similes and imagery are spot-on and beautifully rendered.

A World United by QueenHal

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: PRE-HBP :: At the end of his sixth year, Harry Potter, the boy-who-lived, defeated Voldemort for the last time. But the tides of war have taken a toll on him, as much as they have taken a toll on his beloved Hogwarts and the entire Wizarding World. But when Harry returns for his seventh and final year at Hogwarts, the new traveling Quidditch team might be just what he needs to piece his life and his world back together. I won't be doing anything more with this sotry, but since I like the chapter, I'm leaving it up.

Honest, I think you should figure your way around writers block or whatever and continue this, because it has promise. Seems like that's true for most of your ideas...

Nothing to Lose by Lumos

Rated: Professors •
Summary: It's the eve of the final battle, and Voldemort has made a terrible mistake. He has taken away Harry's last hope and joy - leaving nothing to live for. And Harry reacts in a way neither of them had ever quite expected. After all, the most dangerous enemy of all is an enemy with nothing to lose... A one shot songfic based on Jeff Buckley's Grace.

The song actually lasts long enough to read the story.

Author's Response: Really? I didn\'t know that. And I\'m pleased you bothered to listen to the song because it was really the song that sparked the story and not the other way round. You\'ve made me happy :)

Harry Potter and the Liar's Vow by TatteredBloodyRose

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

Nice...so THAT is why Dumbledore trusted Snape. You're usage of the Unbreakable Vow as a powerful plot device works very well.

Harry Potter and the Spirits of the Storm by QueenHal

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: A Post-HBP fiction.

When Harry’s quest for the horcruxes turns desperate, he leaves the security of his homeland to seek out the advice of an ancient and most unusual Council – one whose allegiance is only to themselves but whose knowledge is so vast it may be his only chance. What Harry discovers there will change everything. Soon, he comes to see that this is all so much bigger than just he and Dark Lord – his role, though pivotal, is terribly minute compared to the challenges the Wizarding World must now face.

Meanwhile, across the Atlantic Ocean, a young witch uncovers the truth about her bloodline. But only when catastrophic events begin to unfold, does she realise her importance in the greater scheme of things...

It is a tale of epic proportions: bringing in the truth behind Slytherin's betrayal, and the choices the Founders had to make to ensure the longevity of their world. Enemies must unite, lines must be crossed, and children must forgo their innocence. And behind it all, fly the Spirits of the Storm, waiting, watching, scheming. Welcome to the greatest epic war the Wizarding World has ever seen.

Chapter 11 is posted.

Summary: The Last Battle between Good and Evil… Harry is cornered, injured and wandless, lying defeated against Riddle's tombstone, Voldemort leering at him. EXTRACT “Yeah, I have a question,” Harry said suddenly, still staring into the scarlet, hateful eyes even though his scar seared in pain, “why did you give my mother so many chances to live?” This question had been etched into Harry’s mind for as long as he could remember, and maybe, maybe he would get it answered…

Voldemort grinned, “Ah, I you would really like to know, I will show you,” grinned Voldemort. Harry immediately knew nothing good would come of this…

Never by suckr4romance

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Written in response to Winter Snows Challenge One: Redemption.

It’s New Year’s Eve. A young man wanders the streets of a town, blaming himself for the loss of a loved one, and a young woman sits before her fire, pondering the effects of the war. What happens when one mentally calls for the other, without even knowing it? A life-altering conversation is held amongst the two, its result mending a rupture between the One and the world—his world, the world he loved.

The war ended less than a year ago, and it has been five years since the end of Book Seven. WARNING: This is not to be taken as a romantic shipping.

Would be a brilliant last chapter to the Seventh book, actually (if he vowed never to forget a few others, as well: i.e. James, Lily, Sirius, Dumbledore, AND Ginny; a few references to the other assorted dead would do well in that pursuit, also). Nice, very nice, especially the reference to the Diggory's.

Author's Response: Thank you! I loved writing the Diggory reference, and this piece of work is one of the closest to my heart. It all fit together, with Ottery St. Catchpole.

I really like your stories because, aside from being extremely well written and plotted, they satisfy my sadistic lust for the death and/or tormenting anguish of all the characters I love so much. Thank you.
