The Unseemly Proposal by sparx

Summary: The reign of Voldermort comes to an end, and with it ends the prestige and power Lucius Malfoy once had in the Wizarding World. In order to regain the respect of his fellow wizards and to make them believe that he has turned over a new leaf (which he actually hasn't) and has graciously accepted muggles and Mudbloods, Lucius asks Hermione, a Mudblood, to marry his son, Draco, a pure-blood. Obviously, they both refuse, but Lucius isn't going to give up easily. After all, he wants his status back. He still has a few tricks up his sleeve and is determined to play match-maker. What happens next is a series of events that serve only to bring Hermione and Draco closer, both literally and figuratively speaking. Oh My Godric!!! I absolutely love this fic! I saw that the SBBC was studying this fic, and it entrigued me when I saw comment about a 'Ron/Hermione/Remus Triangle' or something of the sort... and I am so glad I decided to read this! Is absolutely fantastic!
You have come up with a way that makes it 'plausible' for a 'Student /Teacher' relationship, and not many people are able to do that! Your characterization of Hermione is utterly superb, and the way you describe each and everyone of the Marauders... *sigh* Just perfect, absolutely perfect! I'm dying to see what Lily and James write to Harry...
Well, it's official, you have me hooked-up to this story from the very first time I read it (Yes, I did read it in just one day... I tend to do that from time to time when stories are this good) Keep up the good work! I'll be waiting eagerly for an update!

Dear Megan,
Wow, that was just so powerful. The emotions are raw and one can feel for Selena. The conflicts inside of her it's heart wrenching.
I loved the way the story slowly develops. Just hinting slightly as to what was to come. Her nervousness in the beginning as she tries to find reassurance in her mind, the way Roger unknowingly gives her some, it is all so very well written.
I loved how you demonstrated the quote at the beginning all throughout the story. The conflicts she has to battle herself with are so powerful, so emotional. Her tortures were great, in the sense of how you portrayed them, that is. Not that is great to see someone tortured, that is for the Dark Lord only. ;)
I like the way you used the dementors to give some back-story, besides only torturing her. Bellatrix felt a little in the way, if you know what I mean. She felt, to me, as though she shouldn’t have been there. Though I know she must have enjoyed torturing Selena, I felt as though it was better to leave that to unnamed Death Eaters. But that is only my humble opinion.
One thing I really liked was that you didn’t make her be in love with Roger; that you really left him as a good friend and nothing more. When you introduced Michael, I liked how the descriptions make it seem as though it was Roger.
Carolina, poor Carolina. That was a major low blow from Voldemort. Poor little girl. What that must have been for her we may never know, or maybe we will if you write it some time. ;)
This was a very good story. I think I shall be reading some time the story from where Selena comes from.

Harry Potter has rejoined the Wizarding world after a year-long absence, but still has no memory of his time at Hogwarts. Will he ever get his memory back? Read on as the last of the mysteries introduced in A Stolen Past are finally revealed.
This is a story of friendship and mystery, with a healthy dose of H/G thrown in for good measure.

Wow, that's pretty much all I've got in my head... That was incredible! To prove that this was a REALLY good and addicting story, I'll tell you a little secret: I'm really exhausted because I read 'A Stolen Past' and 'A Past Reclaimed' in a couple of nights!!!! Great job in these stories!!!!

Note to my readers: This story has been on hiatus forever due to a variety of factors. I do hope to finish it some day, but don't hold your breath. Also, this is NOT a Dramione nor will I change it to be one. Lastly, I am in the process of rewriting this story so bear with me.

I am Schmerg_The_Impaler of Hufflepuff house, and this is my submission for the Deathly Hallows prompt in the New Year's Challenge.
Although this story's a one-shot for the challenge, I may add more chapters after the contest is over.
