To Achieve Perfection by emmaholloway

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: All her life Ginny has tried to live up to the expectations set by those around her, and more importantly herself. When Harry breaks up with her Ginny thinks she realises what she must do to acheive this perfection but this soon turns into an obsession she can't escape.

Warning: The main focus of this Story is on the effects of an eating disorder, if you get easily upset by such issues I suggest you dont read.

Ooh. The plot thickens. I have a few comments on your otherwise thouroughly excellent chapter.

So, Ginny was in the Hospital Wing and nobody noticed how anorexic she was? It seems a tad unrealistic to me.

The dialouge seemed rushed to me, except for Ginny's speech, which I rather liked. It was very poignant.

Oh, and another great thing- the last line. Really chilling.

-Stubby

Author's Response: Ginny doesn\'t look like she\'s anorexic. She is skinny but alot of sixteen year olds are. The only person who has noticed anoything is Luna but she notices everything, remember the wedding and she knew who harry was? She\'s taking six subjects, she\'s quidditch captain, and there\'s a war going on, to everyone else it just looks like she is stressed. Also I decided that anorexia was not such an issue in the wizarding world, so it wouldn\'t occure to madam Pomfrey to be concerned about it.
As for dialogue. I always end up overdoing... Perhaps I decided to down play it and it ended up rushed... I\'m sure one day I\'ll be able to get the balance right.
Thanks for reading. emma x x

This story is so intriguing. We have Ginny, who contructs a huge reason for Harry breaking up with her while the actual truth is right before her eyes, striving for perfection. Passionately written and elegantly woven, this fic gets two thumbs up from me!

Author's Response: I feel I have to comment on how amazingly written your review was. It felt like part of a story.

Hmm... I little odd, and not *quite* as good as the last chapters. Slightly unclear as to what's going on. But I did like Colin.

Author's Response: Maybe you could tell me what was unclear and I can see what I can do to change that.

A very compelling look at an alternative way R.A.B. could have been explained. Heck, it almost makes sense in canon!

You did a wonderful job at putting more behind a screaming portait.

Author's Response: Thank you! I really enjoyed getting to add some depth to a rather 2-dimensional character. Thanks for the review! :)

This is a great fanfic. It is passionate, strong, and very sad. And- I know this was completed pre-DH- it reminds me of "The Forest Again" and "King's Cross".

A Time to Fall by Ennalee

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Molly Weasley lost two boys in the first war. She doesn't think she can bear to lose another.
Reviewer: Stubbornly_appeared Signed
Date: 11/06/07 Title: Chapter 1: A Time to Fall

I don't know if I've already reviewed this, but I had to say something.

'Molly wonders where he is — if he’s cold, if he’s hungry; she plans out a month of his favorite meals to make for him when he gets back. When she tells Arthur (at the kitchen table, after dinner has been cleared away) he goes very still, and this is how she knows he doesn’t think their son is coming back. '

I love that part. I love the whole thing, really.

Thanks.

GAAAAH!

Sorry, had to release my pent-up anger for Sean.

*grumble*

He's so... so cliche! Wandless magic! Street fighter! Anger management! American exchage student!

Come on, mate! What the [insert swear words of your choice here- preferably one that starts with f and another with h) was that?

I've fallen into the trap, too! These stupid stories are too darn irresistable!

Cliffy ending, though.

Author's Response: The interesting thing is that everyone thinks that in this universe wanded magic is the only type of magic there is. Why is it that Japanese magic, the legends of which are about three thousand years older than the English or European legends, is always forgotten? America is considered the melting pot. Why is it that we can have a million different religions and no one thinks we\'d have just as many different kinds of magic?

Kill or be Killed by Cruciatus Love

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:

It was the great battle at Hogwarts--the end of everything. Many lives would be taken tonight, much blood would be shed. But in the middle of it all, Bellatrix Lestrange had her own mission. And it was not one she would take lightly.

There was going to be death tonight. It was in the inevitable. For that’s what this war had finally come down to. Kill or be killed.

Reviewer: Stubbornly_appeared Signed
Date: 09/01/07 Title: Chapter 1: Kill or be Killed

Very strong. You depict Bellatrix's devotion as outright- complete and unyielding. Much the same way as she feels about the Dark Arts and killing: it is a must, a necessity. The bold bits really bring the whole thing full circle to the first chapter of DH. I especially like the finishing part, the lines "Kill or be killed. Bellatrix chose kill. And she had completed her mission." in particular. Good job writing something that few people want to tackle.

Author's Response: Thanks, I appreciate your comments.

Ooh, ultimate Voldy ownage!

So creepy, and awesome! I really liked Amy and Dennis, and how they insulted him by saying he was normal.

:) I'd love to see more of your work....

Author's Response: Thank you, Stubby! ^_^ I always thought of Tom as hating being called normal - hence the name change. And fear not! A sequel is on the way... though it probably won\'t be up until late October. Until then, you\'re beta-ing my songfic, remember? ;)

:(

So very sad, but lots of hope. I was both tearing up and chuckling throughout the story. Great characters and observations.

Also, was it just me, or did you intend the end with Draco to be a reference to when Voldemort says something about Draco babysitting Tonks and Lupin's kids?

Author's Response: Thanks, Roonil. Yes, the echoing of Voldemort\'s words was very intentional. The idea is that Draco is using it ironically: he\'s realized how much he\'s been a slave to the will and ideas of other (his father, LV) and is now trying to think for himself. So his use of the phrase is a response to Voldmort: \"You ask me whether I\'ll \'babysit the cubs?\' The answer is yes.\"

In Loving Memory by PadfootBaby

Nice. But what about Peter? He was a rat, but... I dunno. Nevermind.

The Phoenix of the Order: A Potterized Phantom of the Opera Soundtrack! by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Having spoofed the lovely album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," I decided to do another one of my favourite albums: THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA SOUNDTRACK! And through Andrew Lloyd Webber's yummy songs, this spoof tells the story of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix."

So here it is, guys! (And girls, and koalas, and lampreys, and shrubs and parameciums and stuff.)

This is more a spoof of the soundtrack than the actual play... though if anyone records themself singing any of these songs, I would fall over from sheer awesomeness attack.

Et in Mortem Ego by Hesperia

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: What happens to Voldemort after the end of Deathly Hallows? Can even he find his peace? One-shot, Voldemort's POV.

Major DH spoiler warning -- If you are among those 2 or 3 people who haven't finished the book yet, stay away from this. Otherwise, please R&R!
Reviewer: Stubbornly_appeared Signed
Date: 08/22/07 Title: Chapter 1: Et in Mortem Ego

Wow. Very creepy; very good. Merope arriving was interesting, how a mother's unconditional love reaches out even to Voldemort.

He felt pain when he died, too. But, when Harry asks Sirius if dying hurts, Sirius replies, "Dying? Not at all. Quicker and easier than falling asleep.".

Perhaps it is only those who fear death that feel pain in death. And again, Voldemort will be trapped in his orphanage forever, for he will never "take a train" and move "on".

Well done.

Author's Response: Thanks for your comments! Yes, I think death was painful to Voldemort because of the crippled form he was forced to take. That\'s the sense I got from reading the King\'s Cross chapter, anyway.

Reviewer: Stubbornly_appeared Signed
Date: 08/22/07 Title: Chapter 1: Et in Mortem Ego

Oh, and your title, if you didn't know, means And I in Death or something of that sort. Very interesting.

One question I just thought of though, after I first reviewed, was this: where did you get the idea that Voldemort was the thing under the chair when Harry was in King's Cross? Because Voldemort hadn't died yet, unless it is some sort of ubiquitous plane of being.

Thank you for writing such a wonderful story; it really made me think.

Author's Response: It would translate to \"And I am (even) in Death\" or \"And I am (also) in Death.\" I assumed it was Voldemort under the chair, because although he wasn\'t dead yet, he was knocked out just like Harry was. Or, I thought maybe it was the portion of Voldemort\'s soul that used to be in Harry. It\'s not completely clear in the book -- but JKR did confirm that that was Voldemort in her chat interview. Thanks again for reviewing :D
