Coup de Grace by Ginny Weasley Potter

Summary: After a year full of bombings and killings, we thought it couldn’t get worse. But we were horribly wrong. And then they struck the final blow… upon our tolerance.

26/11/2008.

This was the day when Mumbai, India’s financial capital was attacked by terrorists. They kept the city hostage for around sixty hours taking hundreds of lives and injuring many more. This attack is counted amongst the most deadliest terrorist attacks so far. It raised a wave of fury and unity in Mumbai.

But after all this, are we, as residents of this diverse world, really united? Why do we fight with each other, just because we belong to different religions? Does difference in faith really matter?

I am Ginny Weasley Potter from Hufflepuff and this story is for the Written Word Challenge of the Hogwarts Spring Term, 2009. I am writing to support the organisation called ‘Citizens For Peace’.

Cruel Moon for the Misbegotten by L A Moody

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Remus Lupin is a man whose bête noir assumes very real proportions on the night of each full moon. It is a reality that he had accepted for most of his life; forced to reconcile to the limitations of his existence at an early age. Then out of the blue, Nymphadora Tonks waltzes into his life, throwing all his stoic principles into turmoil. But wizarding society’s prejudices against werewolves are so deeply ingrained that even specialized Healers have no choice but to admit that some of the most basic answers are just unavailable. As Remus undertakes a dangerous undercover mission that may help him to find answers among his own brothers, Tonks follows a convoluted trail that will uncover the true nature of hatred buried within the Ministry of Magic itself.

Follow this tale of despair and redemption as it weaves through the bustling boulevards of Rome to the carefree Bohemian sections of London to the austere bones of post-industrialized Britain to the majestic spires of Hogwarts castle. It is a story not presented as a romance, but rather as one man’s journey to hell and back as inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy.

Serves as a prequel to my other story, Harry Potter and the Hero’s Lament, but either story can be read independently of the other.

History will be made at Hogwarts this year, an event which will cause complications between even the closest of friends. Meanwhile, a new group of dark wizards is on the rise, said to be wielding a new type of deadly magic. But are they truly dangerous? Or are they just making a bunch of empty threats? A year of excitement, sorrow, and betrayal awaits the next generation of the wizarding world.

The rating is for future chapters. It shouldn't get too bad, but I'm just being cautious. There is some very mild violence. And although I've been reading fanfic for years, this is my first time writing it.
