Summary: What if Harry made friends with someone in the Muggle world? When a girl named Gillian gets caught up in Harry's world of magic, Harry gets a link to the Muggle world that will prove invaluable.

Gillian lives on Magnolia Crescent. She is a Muggle, but not the kind generally accepted by the majority of Muggles. Gillian finds herself wishing daily that there was more to the world in which she lives. Something more fantastic and wondrous, as she sometimes believes there is. As circumstances would have it, she meets Harry Potter, that strange boy who's nothing but trouble. It's rumored he spends the school year at St. Brutus' Institute for Incurably Criminal Boys. At first she's terrified of him, but even lies that conceal one of the world's greatest secrets can't keep at bay her curiosity and longing for something greater. A bond is formed between her and Harry that not all the magic in the world can conceal. And as more about the world is revealed, the question arises: is she a Muggle or Squib?

Author's Response: I don\'t understand how Gillian is developed enough yet for you to make a judgment call about her character...especially one accusing her of being a \"Mary Sue\" when she already has obvious issues regarding self-worth, paranoia, and a chronic need to feel different. None of these are meant to be characteristics that I\'m idealizing, since I am not an angsty preteen. Rather, they are immature characteristics specifically written into a character who has a lot of growing up to do. I\'m sorry that you couldn\'t see that and were in such a rush to make judgments that make you feel insightful.

No, but seriously, it's a spoof of the songs from Disney channel's infamous "High School Musical," telling the tale of JK Rowling's infamous "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets." (I was dared; I took the challenge.)

You will never see the Basilisk the same way again.

A Highly Combustible Situation by whatapotter

Summary: When James makes a cocky boast that he knows Hogwarts so well he could make his way around it blindfolded, Lily unexpectedly takes his bet. Now, James has to spend twenty-four hours with a magical blindfold on, fumbling his way around the trickiest areas of the school. If he loses, he must publicly announce his failure, admit he’s not really as cool as he thinks he is, and give a large apology to Severus Snape. If he wins, however, he gains the adulated prize of giving one kiss to Lily Evans.

Suddenly, James is very keen for this bet to take place…

As for Lily… well, at first she thought it would be a grand idea to humiliate Potter, and was looking forward to his embarrassing debut. However, as any student who’s attended Hogwarts for longer than a few hours would know, Hogwarts just isn’t that safe… especially not when you’re blind, have a natural affinity for trouble, and your name is James Potter. Somehow, Lily’s been roped in for Potter-sitting, and it’s starting to look like a very, very long twenty-four hours.

Nice, very interesting. I like how you characterized Lily, but I think you DEFINETLY need to let some of the air out of James' head. He's not a very likeable character right now.

Author's Response: Lol, thanks. To be fair, I don\'t think James was a very likeable character until he bucked up his act later. I\'m writing it more from Lily\'s perspective so he would seem more obnoxious than is perhaps fair. Thanks very much for reviewing and I hope you continued reading! xx

But this is not just about Arthur and Bill. They happen to be a small part of a much bigger, much more ambitious scheme that they know nothing about, run by a frighteningly powerful organization. What exactly is going on, and what exactly will Arthur and Bill do?

Written as an entry for the Gauntlet, by Schmerg_The_Impaler of Hufflepuff house (most of the Bill bits) and Neville's Girl of Slytherin house (most of the Arthur bits). Probably the strangest thing either of us has ever written.
