Summary: Three years post-Hogwarts. The final battle has started on the night of Harry's twenty-first birthday and he and Voldemort finally face off -- but Voldemort still has to play his last card to get rid of Harry -- by sending him and three of his 'friends' into the past exactly twenty-one years. The four of them now have to struggle to be accepted, keep their identities from certain persons and find a way home.

This is the story of Lily and James, the trials they face, and how James finally wins Lily's heart. (pre-Deathly Hallows)

This is one of the best james/lily fics i've read... you make them feel so real. I really loved your portrayal of all the canon characters and i loved emma. I was sort of hoping earlier in the story that Ted might be good in the end but after the scene with voldemort i decided that he was just pure evil. I liked that emma killed him in the end.
i loved the proposal... it was soo cute. i wish that sirius and Emma had gotten together but i think that even while Lily was alive she would not have been stable enough to be in a serious relationship. Thank you soo much for this great story!

Author's Response: Thanks very much! I'm rather attached to Emma, too, and its sad that she never really gets to be happy; it was definitely have been fun to see her with Sirius, but as you said, it wouldn't have worked because she wasn't ready for a serious relationship. And I'm glad you liked the proposal! :)

Things Aren't Always Black and White by padfootsgirl1981

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:
2009 QSQs: Runner-up: Best Romance - Other Character Story

Add together one ladies' man, one Quidditch player, one werewolf, and one soon-to-be traitor. Then, mix in one imaginative idiot, one fiery redhead, one clever Ravenclaw, and one blonde artist. Stir counterclockwise until trouble occurs, and you are dealing with one of the best-loved group of friends in Hogwarts history. Follow the story of the four Marauders and four equally troublesome girls. See them deal with their first encounters of love, sorrow, heartache… and Death Eaters. How will these future Order members cope with the ordeals that life throws at them? Will love blossom in what was once thought a highly unlikely place? What do you do when the person you care about most in the world doesn’t seem to notice you at all? Will a well-kept secret shatter the foundations of a seven-year friendship? Follow the lives of these friends through their last year at school to the dramatic final battle with Lord Voldemort two decades later.

Warnings are for later chapters, and any sexual situations are very minor.

Chapter Twenty Two: "The Snakes Strike" is in the queue. Excerpt:

Perfume filled his nostrils as Emma walked passed and Rosier’s gaze lingered on her bare, pale legs as the group headed outdoors. “Don’t you just love summer?” he inquired of Regulus, a hungry sneer lighting his face.

“This is ridiculous,” Regulus announced in a furious whisper, “we’re never going to get them alone!”

“Have faith, Black,” commanded Rosier smoothly. “Girls are well renowned for their desire for girly chats. I’m sure they’ll slip off the shackles of their chaperones soon enough.”

Killer Instincts by Ginny Weasley Potter

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: London: Four murders have taken place under bizarre circumstances, for what seems to be an equally bizarre reason.

Harry, a happily wedded man with a wonderful wife and a cute daughter, is an Auror at the Ministry of Magic and is now given a new case to solve with Ron and four other Aurors. Incidentally, the four Aurors include Ginny, Harry’s ‘schoolboy crush’; and it turns out to be much more than a crush when Harry sees her again. What’s more is that Harry is working upon a case that seems to connect to him directly. And once again, it opens up old fears: fears of losing loved ones.

Ron, on the other hand, seems to be tired of Hermione. Tempers are running high and fights are breaking out more often than usual. Are they really falling apart? Or can they sort this out before it is too late?

Then there is the case itself. Who is trustworthy, and who is not? Who is deadly enough to murder four people in cold blood?

Indulge into the gut-wrenching action, combined with warm romance and tingling suspense; while I tell you a story of love, ambition and obsession… a story of what those killer instincts can do. EDIT: MAJOR revamping going on, with regard to plot, characterisation, and general style of writing. I would urge you not to read this until I've removed this notice because I wasn't very good six years ago, and this is as bad as I was. *Places traffic cones*

Harry Potter and the Hero's Lament by L A Moody

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: With McGonagall firmly entrenched as Hogwarts’ new headmistress, Harry is enticed to return for his seventh year under unique conditions. Aided by Ron and Hermione, he embarks upon a Horcrux search-and-destroy mission using the school as the base of operations. Recognizing that saving the wizarding world from the ultimate evil is a rather daunting task for a seventeen-year old wizard, the Order of the Phoenix steps in to assist Harry on his journey. It soon becomes clear, however, that not everyone has the same lesson plan in mind for our hero. As the headmistress attempts to lay a clever trap to reveal hidden agendas, Voldemort waits in ambush at the one site that Harry is sure to visit.

But before Harry can face his nemesis, he must face down the inner demons that plague his own life and truly grow into adulthood. His activities are punctuated with school pranks, Quidditch, parties, and the requisite amount of rule-breaking that readers have come to expect from the trio.

I loved this entire story but this epilogue completely shocked me! It was very out of place with the rest of the story and I felt it was very random. When did all these people die??? You did not explain that at all. Also I believe that Harry has a better grip on reality than to write essentially a fairytale for Teddy. I believe he would tell him the story of his parents but I do not think Harry would embellish or exaggerate until it is basically not true!

I loved the rest of the story however and I look forward to reading more

Author's Response: I apologize for the confusion caused by not labeling the epilogue very clearly from the start. It is not really the next chapter in the story, but rather a bookend of sorts that puts everything into context of the canon universe. As such, the tone is intentionally different as we are entering a different realm. In many ways, it is intended to underline my own reaction to the cavalier way in which the death count has accumulated throughout the canon series. At some point, it’s going to have an impact on Harry – he’s not a heartless brute after all. But don’t be so hard on him, he’s trying to cope in a positive manner. I thought it important to illustrate that the Harry Potter we see at the end of Deathly Hollows is not set up for a happily ever after ending, that there are going to be many issues that will haunt him in the years to come. It makes him a more mature, layered character as I hope to demonstrate in the sequel. Please give the sequel a chance. I will begin submitting it next week.

Dumbledore's Secret by emck_21

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Minerva McGonagall is cleaning out Dumbledores office when she stumbles upon a box full of secrets. And what she discovers in the box will change the future of the Wizarding world forever…

Just on another note, most of the warnings above are for a purely just in case situation, and most of the above possible scenarios are not graphic in nature.

OMG I love this story...I am now completely hooked... I love how you've mixed humor with their real world problems (i.e. Voldemort, for Lily- Snape). I loved the "fine arts school" and Sirius's failure on the snowboard. You have very nicely portrayed a more vulnerable side of Sirius. I also adore the interactions with Lily's Muggle friends... all in all great story...I cannot wait to find out whats in the letter!

Omg....I love this...i could totally see Hermione freaking out over putting on makeup and getting dressed up and I loved the response she had to walking in on Ginny and Harry...neither Ron nor hermione would have much fun in an uber-fancy restaurant either.
I was amazed that Hermione suggested skinny-dipping...she would never do that so I'm glad she backed out...All in all it was wonderful...Great job.

Author's Response: Yes, if Hermione had actually gone through with skinny-dipping, it would have been a big change to her character! I'm glad you liked the story. Thanks for the review :)
