A writer and nothing else: a man alone in a room with the English language, trying to get human feelings right. ~ John K. Hutchens, New York Herald Tribune, 10 September 1961.
About Me: I'm a fifteen year old girl obsessed with writing and Harry Potter. Naturally, the two seemed to merge into a love of fanfiction! I'm from Australia and I started writing when I was eleven. I see fanfiction as a practice for writing original fiction. That's my dream - to be a writer. How cliche is that? My dream is to meet Rupert Grint, and I'm forever jealous of my friend who got to hug Tom Felton last week. Oh, and my name's Jordy.
Favourite Genre? Next Generation, hands down! Romance works too. And when they're combined, they make for the best of fics!
Ships? No angry mobs, capiche? But I love Rose/Scorpius! Oh and Dramione.
Activity on the forums? I used to be a beta, a dueler and SBBC member but I had to give up all three! Writing's my only activity right now.
Best HP Book? Deathly Hallows, without a doubt. It didn't disappoint me, and I loved the ending. PoA comes in second.
Favourite story of mine? The Gryffindor Gang holds a special place in my heart... it's my first fic, and I feel like I know each character individually.
Favourite non-HP book? The 'Tomorrow' Series by John Marsden, Pride and Prejudice, The Hunger Games.
Favourite movie? Pretty much any classic Disney movies. Not the lame ones they come up with nowadays, but all-time favourites like The Lion King, The Little Mermaid and ALADDIN! Not Beauty and the Beast. I still find that a little creepy.
Favourite TV shows? Veronica Mars, Glee, Avatar: The Last Airbender. An interesting combination.
Music/bands? I love crappy radio music. Because it's too catchy. Therefore, I am brainwashed. Don't really care though! Love Ed Sheeran, Foster the People, Gotye, Jessie J and Grouplove, but for some odd reason, going through a Justin Timberlake phase.
Cat or dog? Cat.
Stories coming soon? Well, Saving Dominique is in its early stages of production, but I'm really confident about its chances. I've got a Dramione fic and a James/Lily fic that are both no closer to being finished than my maths assignment.
So, please read my stories, leave a comment and or just PM me on the forums, capiche? ~ Jordy
Growing up as Albus Potter was not an easy task, and being the son of the Chosen One wasn't a piece of cake, either. Expectations of greatness have the startling ability to crush someone, especially an eleven-year-old boy.
Join Albus Potter in his rocky journey to adulthood and what it's like to live, to learn, to love, to lose, and to be the middle child.
This story is going to be epically long, and yes, I will update. It may not come as fast as the updates to The Vindication of James Potter did, as I'm posting this as I write it, but I do promise that this story will not fall victim to apathy. Hopefully, you enjoy this story if you decide to read it. :)
Jess,
Wonderful chapter! I can't wait to read the rest. However, I'm confused -
"He could not even count how many of his primary school classmates had assumed that he was smart or talented at anything because his dad was Harry Potter, but, alas, he was not. "
Wouldn't he have gone to a Muggle primary school, as he mentions it at the very beginning? So his classmates would have been Muggle children; they would not have known about Albus' family's fame?

Author's Response:
Helloooo!
One of the things that I always saw as a plothole in the Potterverse, or at least something that was never really brought up, is how wizard children learn how to read, write, do basic maths, and so forth. Plus, it just seems dangerous and impractical to send wizard children to a Muggle school. Therefore, I have concocted a remedy for that.
Wizard children have their own primary school! They learn the basic subjects that most people need to know, like reading, writing, maths, science, and even basic magic control so they don't maim themselves with accidental magic. It may not have existed when the Trio was at Hogwarts, but I believe that it should exist. Henceforth, in my personal universe, it does. It gives children the same opportunity to build social skills with other kids their age without risking injury or exposure of the magical world to Muggles.
Hope that's cleared up, and I think I'll make an addendum in the Chapter Notes, just in case the inference isn't clear enough.
Thanks for reviewing, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the story (when I write it, lol).
Jess
I'm a gymnast too, and I'm amazed at how well you've written the technical terms and routines. You must be a gymnast too!
I'm absolutely fasinated with this topic. Ever since the Beijing 2008 Games, I've had an immense interest in China, Chinese sport and 'Chinese pride'. Communism is just so different to democratic societies, isn't it? Everything's 'for the good of China.' I can't wait to see this mixed in with magic! I can feel that it's coming soon, isn't it?
~ Jordana
Aaaah, its getting so good! Your foreshadowing is brilliant; obvious, yet subtle, if you know what I mean? Anyway, I can't wait for this story to be updated again!
I can't wait to see the rest of this! It's freaking awesome so far!

That is one crazy, unusual story. Quite well-written, I might add.
Author's Response: Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Megan Jones had managed to successfully dodge all the normal pitfalls of adulthood: marriage, children, and the need to impress anyone. She didn't understand why everyone insisted that she was miserable, when she was, in fact, enjoying her current lifestyle.
Who would've thought one night could change everything?
Love it, Jess! I've never really thought about Charlie much; he seems to be the forgotton Weasley at times. However, you've definitely done him justice!
Author's Response:
Hehe, Charlie does seem to be left behind a lot. I sort of specialise in characters who get left behind; it's my belief that all canon characters should have a story, no matter how minor they might be. Megan is a preeeeeeeeeetty minor character.
And if you're curious, Charlie was in town because one of his brothers was having a baby (well, the wife at any rate), and he was on his way out of town when he bumped into Megan.
Thanks for reviewing, and I'm happy you enjoyed it. :)

I'm such a sucker for Charlie/Tonks! I loved Apparently Asleep and I love this adorable fluff piece too! Once again, another fabulous story by you, Carole :)

Author's Response: Thank you very much. I have a sneaky fondness for Charlie/Tons (or Chonks as I term it). ~Carole~
