I love sports, ice cream, nutella, and J.K. Rowling. Without any of the above, I don't think I could function properly :). I am an addict to fan fiction, almost to a fault...my favorite stories to read are romances, preferably with James and Lily....something about them, just gets me every time. I don't like AUs or dark fics, they usually confuse or depress me, but basically, any fiction that is well written appeals to me

Sleepless Night by Northumbrian

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Life with the Potters is always interesting. What emergency could haul Deputy Head Auror Harry Potter from his bed in the middle of the night?
Reviewer: chattyswimmer Signed
Date: 05/12/10 Title: Chapter 1: Sleepless Night

I liked this story because I loved the way it was simple. Harry's life is usually portrayed as chaotic, sometimes with a lot of drama...He's usually in the middle of something heroic, or in some kind of crisis. This fiction one was perfect because it seemed like a normal night, with nothing crazy. His experience is something I could imagine happening to anyone...It was just average, and it was refreshing to read a story like that. Good job!

Author's Response: Harry was portrayed as a good dad in the epilogue, comforting a nervous Al. I’m sure that his life will be chaotic (three kids!) and sometimes dramatic. But I’d hope that by eight years after the battle he’d be able to relax occasionally. Of course in this story he’s not relaxing. N

I was a little apprehensive starting this story, afraid it would go along a cliche, confusing route, but I ended up really enjoying it! Fantastic job, I can't wait for the next few chapters!!

Author's Response: Thank you for reading the story despite your apprehension and double thanks for enjoying it! I haven't been able to update as regularly as I'd like, but I'm hoping to post the last two chapters in January and start the New Year right (and write, heh).

Acorns by Equinox Chick

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Bill Weasley is overjoyed when Fleur tells him she's pregnant. As the eldest of a large family, he can't wait to be a dad. But as the baby grows, a small seed of fear grows too. Bill is scared and he's not sure who to turn to.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling. That shouldn't come as a huge surprise.

Thank you to Hannah (coolh5000) for beta'ing this fic and to Natalie (hestiajones) for letting me play with Bill for a while.

This is Equinox Chick of Hufflepuff and this is my entry for Round Two (Minor Characters) of Madam Pomfrey's Character Clinic Triathlon.

I loved this story. It was swoon-worthy...There were some perfect lines that just felt completely right for each character. My favorite was when you added the part about Fleur messing up in her pronunciation of the Burrow, because it just fit so well!! I always love the way you portray Fleur...although I think my favorite character this time was Teddy (chocit fwogs!!). And I guess I can't forget Bill...He is so endearing!!! Fantastic job.

Author's Response: Thank you very much. I'm glad you liked the story - I liked Teddy best too. ~Carole~

The Only One by U-No-Poo

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Victoire Weasley walked down the aisle on her father’s arm. Her strawberry blonde locks danced freely down her back, and her simple, white wedding dress brought out every beautiful curve in her body. Her face broke into a smile as she saw her fiancé, Teddy Lupin, standing beside the minister. Today, they would become husband and wife.

This is U-No-Poo of Ravenclaw House writing for the Great Hall's Weddings Challenge; prompt - The Big Weddings.

Awwwwwwwwww!!! Very, very sweet. Love this!

And I really liked James Potter II's line at the end - reminds me of the first James Potter :).

Author's Response: Haha, I know. I picture him and Fred Weasley II as the next generation's Weasley twins! Thanks for the review!

Aurors and Schoolgirls by Northumbrian

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:
The Wizarding War is over.

Auror training has begun and Harry and Ron find that their lives are centred round London and the Ministry of Magic.

For Ginny and Hermione there is the inevitable return to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Their lives are centred round schooling in Scotland.

Do these divided duos have different destinations and divergent destinies? When, where and how can these parted pairings meet? Opportunities are limited to holidays, Hogsmeade visits and school Quidditch matches.

Nominated for: Best Post-Hogwarts (Chaptered) story - Quicksilver Quills 2012

Reviewer: chattyswimmer Signed
Date: 11/01/10 Title: Chapter 8: Hogsmeade: Cancellation

Keep it up,I love the way you wrote this. Its unlike other stories because you just write about normal life, something along the lines of what Jo would have written. It doesn't try to be extremely dramatic, life just happens, in a way that seems very plausible. Excellent and very refreshing! I think that's what keeps getting me! Post soon, I can't wait!!!!

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. It may be normal life for Hermione and Ginny at Hogwarts, but for the Trainee Aurors things are about to get interesting. More soon. -N-

The Happy Couple by Equinox Chick

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Romilda Vane is a young reporter for The Daily Prophet. Currently writing a popular column for the Social pages, she is outraged when the highlight of the social calender - the wedding of Harry James Potter to Ginevra Molly Weasley - is given to Lavender Brown to write.

Lavender isn't happy either, for their boss (He-Who-Pays-Our-Wages) has threatened to assign her to the Cookery section unless she dishes the dirt on her friends. She readily agrees to Romilda taking on the assignment for what could the Saviour of the Wizarding World possibly have to hide?

This is Equinox Chick of Hufflepuff and this is my entry for The Weddings Challenge in The Great Hall. I chose prompt 3 - The Daily Prophet Report.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling, but I think you all know that.

Thank you very much to Samarie (Hopeful_Song) for beta'ing this story for me, and giving me some excellent advice.

The Sexual Sitiuations are really very mild, and merely implied.
Reviewer: chattyswimmer Signed
Date: 05/23/10 Title: Chapter 1: The Happy Couple?

First, I'd like to say that I am so happy you made Romilda never figure out anything bad to write. Also this was superbly written.

I have one question though, of clarification. The way I interpreted this, Ginny and Dean had a "thing" while Harry and Ginny were together (I'm guessing before the engagement) and Harry found out about it. Is that right?

If so, than I am so happy Harry and Ginny worked it out. And, again, that Romilda never found out!! Great story.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. Regarding clarification, I've deliberately left it ambiguous in the story, but in my mind it's a one-off that happenedwhen all three parties were vulnerable for whatever reason. Harry knows something happened, but perhaps he wasn't totally blameless. In the real world - especiallly in relationships - things are not black and white. Hmm, I think this has made me realise that I need to write a Ginny/Dean. Plot bunnies are driving me nuts. Thanks again ~Carole~

I Like a Healthy Breeze Around My Privates, Thanks! by hestiajones

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: “Muggle women wear them, Archie, not the men, they wear this.”

Remember ol’ Archie from GOF? Well, now you’ll know why he refused to give up his flowery gown for a pair of trousers.

Written for the April Fool Challenge at the beta boards. Nominated for a QSQ in the Best Humour category. :D Many thanks to Rachel (lily_evans34) for her help with Latin.

DISCLAIMER: This is not J.K.Rowling, though characters you recognize and story premises belong to her.

Reviewer: chattyswimmer Signed
Date: 05/29/10 Title: Chapter 1: But why, Archie?

Oh, that made me laugh! So funny, and very cleverly written. I never thought that Archie couldn't wear pants, rather that he just chose not to...That why I loved your idea! Lovely imagination :)

Author's Response: Yeah, I know...maybe, poor Archie just didn't want to wear pants. Hehe! But it was such a wacky idea for the prompt that I had to write it. :D Thanks for the review and compliments. :)

Veils by Equinox Chick

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: It is the night before Petunia Evans' wedding. As she stares at herself in the mirror, she is satisfied with her appearance. The dress is perfect, cleverly cut to give her curves, and she looks like a dream. Yes, the dress is perfection ... but what of the veil?

She has promised Vernon and his formidable mother that she will wear the Dursley veil. It is an antique. A family heirloom.

It is hideous.

What she needs is a miracle to rid her of the ugly thing ... or perhaps a touch of magic.

This is Equinox Chick of Hufflepuff and this is my entry in the Weddings Challenge - prompt Big Weddings - in the Great Hall Challenge over at the MNFF beta boards.

Thank you to Samarie (Hopeful_Song) and Kara (Karaley Dargen) for beta'ing this.

Disclaimer: I'm not JK Rowling. I doubt anyone is surprised by that.

Things Change by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:

James Potter has changed: no longer an arrogant, irresponsible prankster, he has matured into a responsible Head Boy with tops marks in Transfiguration. Lily Evans has changed as well: normally studious and in control, she has lost focus as she struggles with Head Girl responsibilities and N.E.W.T level studies. An unexpected encounter in the corridors one weekend leads to several startling realizations, the least of which is that things have definitely changed between James Potter and Lily Evans.

This story was nominated for a 2010 QSQ and is now complete.

At times, this seems a little corny, but I'm always up for a Lily and James story. At any rate, its well written and its only the beginning after all. Update soon!

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! I'm glad you like it overall. Since this is my first fanfiction, it probably is a little corny. If you have any general suggestions for the story, they'd be welcome. :)

If You Change Your Mind by Sagen

Summary: 'If you change your mind, I'm the first in line. Honey, I'm still free, take a chance on me.'

They say that your last year of school is supposed to be your best. Too bad that isn’t true for Lily Evans and James Potter. Who knew that everything can be ruined in a week? First an over-the-top crush, then two friendships. Can you fix everything by someone changing their mind or is it too late once it’s over?

I'm definitely looking forward to see where this is going. I love that you chose minor characters!! Keep at it.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. This is simply short snatches of the Battle from different perspectives, you will, occasionally, see the same scene from two (or even three) perspectives. some of them, however, are simple one shots. -N-
