The Dark Lord's Blog by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: What does Lord Voldemort do in his spare time? Well, that's an excellent question. Who would have known that the Dark Lord has a blog? (He also has a loyal following of readers, most of whom are Death Eaters and who post their comments.) Voldemort dispenses advice on everything from murder methods to germ protection to Power Rangers to shoes, and gives an account of the life of an evil overlord. But is he posting too much personal information online? And will Harry read it and find out more about the Dark Lord than Voldemort ever intended? Read and see.

WARNING: Extremely OOC behaviour from almost all.

Rose was a Weasley. She never gave Scorpius Malfoy a second glance. They were sworn enemies, even though they’d barely even spoken to each other. But sometimes all it takes for love to blossom is a Potions lesson, a few snide remarks and a dropped book.

Two people. Two entirely different worlds that are suddenly intertwined.

awww.... It makes me feel really sad for him. :(
I think this is a very creative idea. I'd never even thought of the possibility of Hugo (or any of his cousins, for that matter) being a squib.
I like how it's written in diary entries, but I'm wondering how well that's going to work later in the story, if there's more action.
All in all, good work!! :)

I think this is one of the best pieces of writing I've ever read. Not best pieces of fanfiction-- best pieces of writing. It's about failing, and remorse and redemption and goodness-- I think you have captured humanity as an essence better than anything I've ever read. All the characterizations are spot-on. I love how you show Regulus, so smart he understands everything, but he still makes mistakes, he still fails at things, and he still loses his grip on sanity. I love how he characterizes Harry. I love how he senses everything, and it's like he and the reader are dissolving in sensation, and losing everything else. I love how he finally finds his courage. I think this is at least the sixth time I've read this. If it wasn't fanfiction, I would tell you to go to every single publisher you can find and get them to take it, or just self-publish. My review is probably completely nonsensical. Sorry.

ooh! cool. Rather creepy, how you show Grindelwald and Dumbledore dueling, and Dumbledore says he is still somewhat ambitious. :) I think you nailed Grindelwald's attitude towards Voldemort. :)
All in all, I like it.

I Still Remember by jenny b

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: As kids, they were best friends. Practically inseperable, climbing trees every day at the Potters. It was always them. Teddy and Victoire.

But things change. And so do people. They grow up, move on. Make new friends, and forget all about lazy summers spent sitting in treetops. For a while.

But it doesn't take much to bring the memories back. And Teddy is determined to do just that.

The Torment Bred in the Race by paperrose

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: It's been twelve years since the Wizarding world saw Harry Potter after he mysteriously disappeared into the Forbidden Forest during the Final Battle in 1998. Now Lord Voldemort has conquered, extending his reach not just over Britain, but France, Germany, and Spain as well.

Meanwhile, hidden deep within the Canadian Rocky Mountains in British Columbia, a terrifying secret is brewing at the magic school that McGonagall herself founded just after the second battle for Hogwarts. It is at this school where Muggle-born Leah Andrews and her best friends, Gwen and Cory, will find themselves thrown into the search for the truth: What is a dead snake doing hung from a tree like a sacrificial lamb? Who really is the new DADA professor with the strange colour-changing eyes and bad mood swings? And just what does a gentle half-giant gamekeeper have to do with any of this?

One thing is for certain - all is definitely not well.

This is the sequel to Alternate Ending. I strongly recommend you read that one first, although I don't think it's necessary.

Excerpt from the Epilogue:

As he sidestepped them, he glanced down again at the wrinkled slip of parchment Charlie had handed him two days earlier with nothing more than a quiet word that there may still be one last loose end to tie.

Beautiful. I loved the end, but (morbid as it seems) think I might prefer it if Harry had died.I think it would have given it another dimension. But that's just my humble opinion, and I have to say I loved it the way it was. It was a treat to watch your writing progress from good to great. It's so rare to find any finished Voldemort wins stories, and many that I do find aren't as good as this one. This was a pleasure to read. And you write evil cliffies; I'm still awake and it's two in the morning! Anyway, love the story.

Megan :D

Author's Response: Aww thank you!!! I think it really could have gone either way for Harry: him dying or not. But I love Teddy and once the idea came to have Harry start over with him in the end, I couldn't let that go. Evil cliffies are fun to write :P.

Awesome! Delightfully sweet, all of them. My personel favorites would be the Rose/Scorpius one and the Harry/Ginny one, just because I like those pairings. I love how the Rose/Scorpius one ties in so well with When Worlds Collide. :)

After the Agony by Astrid Skywalker

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Decades after Harry Potter’s death, a new political order emerges—one even more powerful and influential than Voldemort and his Death Eaters had ever been. The English Magical Alliance, a powerful division of the Wizengamot with fascist tendencies, takes hold of the Ministry in a mostly non-violent revolution. England is then plunged under strict authoritarian rule, where wizards are forbidden from associating with Muggles, public transport is closely monitored, and political dissidents are sent to Azkaban to be tortured and killed.

26-year-old Catherine Thomas is a graduate student at The Conservatory, a post-Hogwarts institution founded by Rowena Ravenclaw herself, interning as an assistant to the History of Magic professor at Hogwarts. A professor in training and a historian at heart, she prides herself on being an advocate of accuracy and the preservation of historical fact. But when the Party instructs her to rewrite Harry Potter’s biography and tailor it to the Party’s ideals, she sees the opportunity of a lifetime: a window to success and a chance to advance within the Ministry. Suddenly she is thrust into a world full of lies and political strife—where choice is the ultimate weapon and integrity is most in danger of disappearing. Will she be able to follow through with her loyalty to the Party, or will her innate desire for the truth urge her to write Harry’s story as it is?

Thank you for your time, Professor by Equinox Chick

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: It is April 1976, and Minerva McGonagall sits in her office, arranging biscuits on a plate. She knows she faces a stormy afternoon because today is the day she has to advise her four most troublesome students on their future. They call themselves the Marauders; they think they want the same thing, but Minerva knows that the differences between them will not work in everyone's favour. And so, she steels herself for a very difficult day.

This is Equinox Chick submitting her final for the MWPP class.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling, but I doubt that shocks you.

This story is very much a prequel to The Lions of Gryffindor, but either can be read without knowledge of the other.

For I am a Mother by hestiajones

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Voldemort and the Death Eaters are waiting for Harry Potter in the clearing. Among those present is a woman, Narcissa Malfoy, who is considering her family’s fate. Then, Harry Potter comes and the Dark Lord casts the Killing Curse...yet, Harry, as Narcissa finds out, is not dead. Why does she decide to lie for him?

Interesting insights into Narcissa. I like the line "I gather what remaining strength I have so I can lie to the one who cannot be deceived" because it reminds the readers of just how hard it is for her to tell the lie.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! I think that's my favourite line, too. :)

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: On May 2nd, 1998, Harry Potter walked calmly into the face of death to save those he loved, bringing with him only his wand, and four people brought back with an extraordinary stone. Unbeknown to him, they had also come on a journey to be with him that night.

Wonderful. Interesting and very creative. I like how they're invisible, but still wandering around. I hope Lupin finds Tonks soon. James and Lily's panic about finding Harry is completely beleivable. What I'm wondering right now is whether they all woke up at the same time, or at a certain time after their deaths? Guess I'll find out soon. :) Again, very believable and wonderful.
