I've been reading the HP books since they were released in the US. I'm not very into shipping, just the canon stuff, you see. OC's and AU's are not my cup of tea. There are a few exceptions. I like canon. A LOT. I don't usually read anything above a PG-13 unless it's R for violence or swearing or something. I certainly won't write anything above a PG-13. I tend to like my fics fluffy and sad. Just like the books. My current favorite fic is Harry Potter and the Nightmares of Futures Past, hosted on fanfic.net.

Thanks for reading

The Daughter of Light by Magical Maeve

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: An Irish witch languishes in the darkness of her family home, confined by her father and circumstances. What will it take to bring her out of this exile? The chance to return to Hogwarts? The opportunity to participate in the fight against Voldemort and his Death Eaters? Or will it be Severus Snape, a man she did not expect to see again in her lifetime?

This is canon compliant to OoTP but written pre-HBP.

Reviews and constructive criticism are most welcome, and thanks go to Ashwinder who kindly beta read the chapters for me. :-)

I'll be honest and say that I usually can't stand to read anything AU, and certainly not anything with an OC that has quite so much spotlight as Maeve does. However... I like her, and I have a soft spot for Snape that I don't quite understand. But in any case, what I'm getting at is This is one of my favorite fics. Your characterization is brilliant and Maeve is so perfect for Snape that she helps a great deal to be able to stick to the Snape-is-not-evil position. He just can't be, can he? The apology between Harry and Snape was just so perfect. It makes me sad, thinking of what's coming... Anyway, wonderful story.

Oblivious by Pallas

Summary: What if there were more to Remus Lupin's bite than a badly timed stroll in the woods? The arrival of a feral invokes secrets of the past and terror for the present...

This story is wonderful. It's almost like the real thing... Are you considereing becoming a writer? I think you should.

Lacrima Serpentis by Insecurity

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: This story is set in the dystopian society of Wizarding England under the control of Voldemort. Fifteen years after leaving Hogwarts, Harry Potter is in hiding; he fears the words of the Prophecy and has lost the will to fight. This story tells the tale of an adult Hermione who sacrifices everything: her family, her moral beliefs and eventually her dignity, in order to save the Wizarding world. She becomes a Death Eater under the recommendation of someone she barely trusts. She struggles to find the courage and strength, but with every choice she makes she gets deeper and deeper into danger.

Chapter 33 is finally up. Thank you for your support and patience..

I haven't really made up my mind about this fic yet. But I guess I must like it somewhat since I'm still reading at chapter 17. I don't think this Hermione is really Hermione, I don't see it. But she's such a good character that I don't really care anyway.

Author's Response: Thank you. I understand your concerns about Hermione, I have been having them myself. I think because she's in her thirties and a totally different environment you can account for some changes, just not all! In the last chapter I tried to show her own fear of herself and what she had become, in hope that would explain a few things. I'm going to tie up things in the next two chapters and so I can move it onto the conclusion. Plenty more to come though, hehe!

The Severed Souls by Magical Maeve

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Summary : The sequel to Daughter of Light. Maeve has a very bad end to her honeymoon as things come to light about Severus that astound her. Why is her husband so keen to keep Draco Malfoy alive at all costs and can she really get over her loathing of Narcissa Malfoy to work together to save both Severus and Draco from the fate that Voldemort would like to inflict on them? Why is Harry so furtive and will Neville save the day when Maeve’s necklace is returned to her by her father. Oh, and our favourite bad-boy Auror is back!

There has been rather a long break in the writing of the story due to work commitments, but I'm back on the case and hoping to get it finished - if there's anyone left still reading!! :-)

Oh, dear. What an ending. I am very interested to have this story fill in the gaps between Daughter of Light and Potions Master of Azkaban. The latter fic actually drew me into your stories, I was so fascinated with the concept of Snape having a wife. I'm also a sucker for theories that exonerate him, as I don't want to believe he's evil. You've done a wonderful job with Maeve. She's such an interesting character that I'm starting to worry that I'll mix her up with canon eventually. :-\

Author's Response: Thank you for the review, Occlumens! Well... PMoA, whilst it touches on and uses characters from this fic... it should not be taken as what will happen at the end of this fic at all. Severus may or may not be captured.... he may or may not go to Azkaban. PMoA really was a plot bunny that needed to be written and I borrowed from this.

And yes, I like theories that explain his innocence. We are going to get into his head somewhat in that latter half of this as he battles with himself and the people that would try to be his masters.

After the Die is Cast by Mudblood428

It is the final stage of Harry's quest to destroy Lord Voldemort - can he save the Wizarding World and those he loves from the treachery of the Dark Lord... and also save himself? [Action takes place in media res towards the end of Harry's Seventh Year at Hogwarts (Post-HBP).]

Ahhhh! Poor Harry. This is a beautiful chapter though, very well done. You can just feel the emotion coming out of the story. I loved your take on Snape. He's such a complex character, and I don't think he's necessarily a good person, but I also don't think he buys Voldemort's bs for a minute. Great job! Update soon! ;)

Author's Response: Occlumens, my new LJ friend :). Thanks so much for reviewing both here and on LiveJournal! (And we'll be learning a bit more about Snape later, so hang on til then :).)

I love this story (and your one-shot too). Your writing style is excellent and your stories read like canon. Great job!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! There's no greater compliment than to hear someone thinks your work reads like canon!

Arachne’s Curse by Ravensgryff

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: HBP Spoilers! Set immediately after the end of HBP, Severus Snape begins to explain exactly whose side he's on and what the stakes are in the coming battle. What is the curse of Arachne and how did it lead him to this point? Obsession, betrayal and a quest for redemption are all part of this historical account of Snape's life since coming to Hogwarts.

*obsessively checks for an update* ;) This is a great fic. Great theories in there. Do you actually think this is what could have happened , or are you just having fun with it? Just curious... I just think it's plausible.

The Upside of Being Down by Kimberley

Rated: Professors •
Summary: *COMPLETED!*What happens when you put a hopelessly "romantic" man-hussy and a girl with a soft spot for bedtime activities (not THOSE activities, silly!) together in a dark bedroom? Well, I don't happen to know either, so I suppose we'll find out together, won't we? Come with me, Tia C. Spencer, on a lovely ride through the countryside... er, lakeside... okay, so we won't actually be riding NEXT to anything, but it will be lovely, I promise you that. How can it not be, with me as your illustrious (and quite possibly mad) companion?

And no, contrary to beliefs very likely impressed upon you by this summary, I'm not a gormless prat.

Well... not entirely.

Harry Potter -- This Is Your Life! by Trucker

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: When I was a kid, I loved a TV show called This is Your Life. According to www.museum.tv, “Ralph Edwards... developed the formula for a separate radio program called This is Your Life. It began airing on radio in 1948, and became a live television program in 1952, running on the NBC network until 1961, and reappearing in syndicated versions briefly in the early 1970s and 1980s.”

So, I got to thinking about someone in the wizarding world deciding to do the same concept on the Wizarding Wireless Network. Of course someone would insist on doing an episode with Harry, right?

Note: This is Version 2, with more guests on the show!

Yay! Voldemort is such a loser. Most of his dialogue would be ridiculously funny if he weren't, yanno, preparing to kill someone all the time. Voldy= teh stupid. Very creative idea. Good job!

Author's Response: The only people who are bigger losers than MoldyShorts are his followers. Imagine following a half-blood who's pretending to be a pure-blood on a vendetta against less-than-pure bloods. If I remember correctly, there was a famous Jew-hater who tried to hide the fact that he had Jewish ancestry while getting his followers to kill a fe million of them...

Hahaha! I love it! Evil Snape is too boring, anyway.

Author's Response: I\'ve said it once, and I will say it again - Severus Snape is by far one of JKR\'s most interesting characters - I don\'t think he\'s evil (obviously) but why is he so darned nasty?? I\'m trying to answer that question...maybe...

This is a beautiful story. Your characterizations are spot-on, in my opinion. Great job!

Author's Response: Thanks very much. I really appreciate the thoughtful review. I am not one for over-reaching or OOC-ness. I love these characters, and these stories, and am just enjoying a bit of creative fun while JKR finishes up...

I'm still very much enjoying this fic. It's very eloquent. The scenes are to-the-point, yet the characters are believable and it works quite well.

Author's Response: Glad that you progressed to chapter two and are still reading! Hopefully, you'll stick with the whole story (however long it may be - your guess is as good as mine!) Thanks for taking the time to review.

Reviewer: occlumens Signed

Oh dear, it's beautiful. *tear* Lol. I wish JKR had the time to write romance scenes like these, because hers fall rather short compared. However, that would make all the books about 2,000 pages long, wouldn't it? Update soon!

Author's Response: Yippee! Occlumens, you stayed with my story! Thanks a bunch. Yeah, well, I guess we can forgive JKR because she came up with these amazing books and characters we care so much about in the first place, right? But, I really appreciate the sentiment. Look for chapter 8 shortly - it's in the queue!

Hello! Just letting you know I'm still reading and loving your story! I've been a bit busy so I'm behind, but I haven't forgotten. ;) Great job!

Author's Response: Oh, hey, thanks for taking the time to review again, I really appreciate you stickin' with my little story here (thought it's not so 'little' anymore, come to think of it...)
