Oh my goodness. I can't even begin to over-analyze this story. I really enjoyed the progression of Draco's and Hermione's relationship, and I thought you really managed to get a whole other angsty, dark side to the whole illicit romance, and turned it into a wonderful warm-fuzzy ending. It was wonderful, you really seem to get romance fics.

Every so often, I'll go browsing the R/S fanfics, searching for something really good, because I love this ship. About two years ago I found this story, and I haven't found anything better on any of the fanfic sites I read. This is so true to Sirius' and Remus' characters, and develops their relationship so realistically. I love Sirius's thoughts especially for their raw, animalistic quality so suited to him. And the scene with their first kiss is so, so brilliant. You have taken the characters and slowly developed them into what you need them to be for your story. This is incredible fanfiction and I hope you'll finish it someday.

The Women Who Won by Laurelyn

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: The battle is fought, the war is won--but no victory ever comes cheap. Join Alice, Andromeda, Ginny, Narcissa, Luna, Molly, and Hermione as they discover the cost of war.

EDIT: I'm back! And I am SO SORRY I was gone so long. There is absolutely no excuse for making you wait almost three years for an update. *hides from angry reviewers* The next chapter is in the queue!

Aw! Great fluff! You portrayed ginny SO well, especially when she ran into Harry again. I loved their fight, and when Harry said "DID YOU THINK i DIDN'T DIE INSIDE WHEN I HEARD YOU SCREAM MY NAME?" it was so beautiful. The ending, however, was a little further than I thought it should be into unashamed cheeseyness. I'm really excited that Narcissa is up next, because she isn't written about a lot and I'd love to see your vision on what happened to her after the war. Keep writing this story, I love it1

A Certain Slant of Light by Hatusu

Rated: Professors • Past Featured Story
Summary:

At age fifteen, Regulus Black became sole heir to the largest fortune in Wizarding London. At sixteen, his abnormal intelligence won him entry into the most notorious cult of Dark wizards on earth. At seventeen he made a mistake – one that he would never be able to take back – and his entire world came crashing down.

Enter London, 1979. The story of a boy who managed to defy Voldemort at the height of his regime. But what price did he have to pay?

This is.. beautiful. Terrifying. Slightly beyond me. I don't understand quantum mechanics, but I do understand how all of this demented Regulus so much. Parts of it made me cry, namely when Sirius asked him to join them and Regulus refused. And it's a perfect ending, complete with the quote. Artistic timing. Although you did switch things up a bit from how J.K Rowling wrote the story of Regulus and Kreacher switching out the lockets. This was painful to read, because it led up to a conclusion I already knew, but I couldn't help begging Regulus inside my head to please, make different decisions. I loved your allusions to Harry as the person to kill Voldemort. And it's a brilliant concept, Regulus being a mad genius, comparable to Dumbledore.

Drowning, not Waving by Equinox Chick

This is Equinox Chick submitting her final for the Characterisation class on the MNFF beta boards.

I would like to thank Emma (Amortentia X) for her invaluable help in beta'ing this tale. She not only corrected my horrible punctuation but helped a great deal with characterisation. I would also like to thank fgweasley, inspirations, eternalangel, Electronic Quillster and luinrina for their suggestions in class. Last but most definitely not least - thank you, Prof Haylee for allocating me Oliver Wood!

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling, but I doubt you're surprised by that.

Wow. Just, wow. Well, not just wow.
I loved the way you portrayed Oliver Wood. He was still the same Wood we knew from the books, but the background made so much more sense of him. The backstory of his father was good, although it seemed the slightest bit cliche at a few points. The OW/CD felt a little rushed, but I loved how you managed to wrap the concept of this story all up into a little bittersweet bow at the end.

Author's Response: Thank you for the review. The trouble I had with this story is that because it was written for a class, I had to keep it as a oneshot, so the backstory had to be kept as concise as possible - hence the cliche. I also had to speed up the relationship between Oliver and Cedric for the same reason. What I tried to do was to show that it was Oliver seeing Katie that sped things along for. If it hadn;t been a oneshot then I would have spread it over a few chapters. Thank you again for the review and the crit - it's much appreciated. ~Carole~

Interesting pair-up. Overall I thought it was pretty good, although I would have reeally liked to see more detail.

Author's Response:

I'm glad  you stopped by to read! This really wasn't slated as a detail piece so much as a highlight of the pivotal points in Albus's obsession with loving Scorpius, but I would be interested in what you saw that could be improved. I'm always up for editing for quality, so if you feel strongly about it, please leave a second review with what you think could have been done better.

Thanks again for stopping by. :)

This was wonderful! I'm so glad someone did a Molly/Arthur. I really liked how you portrayed Molly as so sweet, but so fierce, just like the books. Arthur falling in love with her just felt so natural to read, it made sense. I hope they get together soon, I'm really curious as to how this story will turn out. BTW: excellent use of the phrase 'scarlet woman." :D

Author's Response: Haha, thanks! I'm glad you've enjoyed it, and extremely glad it felt natural for Arthur to fall in love with her. Phew! =D The next chapter is coming soon, it's almost finished. I hope you'll continue to read and review!

i am so excited that someone wrote an Anne Boleyn fic. The story so far is great, but two things bothered me: firstly, the lack of Old English. People of this era did not talk like that, although I understand that you probably did that to minimize confusion. Secondly, although this is merely trivial, in your Sorting song, you only mentioned Slytherin as wanting pure-bloods. As a Slytherin myself, I feel it necessary to mention that Slytherin qualities include ambition and cunning, as well as others. Sorry to be nitpicky, and I really do like your story.

Author's Response: Of course Slytherins have other qualities, and you'll actually see some of those later on in this fic ;) that was just what worked out in the song. I don't think you mean Old English, which was used before Anne's time. She lived during the century that was the transition from Old English to Modern English (I just Wikipedia'd it, and it's called "Early Modern English" go figure hehe) but I see what you mean. Thanks for reviewing! I'm glad you like it! :) ~Virgil

Wow. I'm somewhat torn between chucking you in a loony bin and giving you an award. Not that I would actually be able to do either of those things, obviously. I loved this story, crazy as it was - and awkward as it was to read at some points. I'm glad Albus ended up with Scopius! It was an amazing story.

Author's Response:

This story was meant to be the ultimate masquerade gone awry, and this is what came out. I knew when it was finished, it would be either brilliant or batsh*t, but somehow, it ended up being both. I'm not sure what warped place in my mind produced this story, but it was fun to write. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for reading/reviewing!

Summary: Susan Bones is always getting mixed up with her best friend, Hannah Abbott. She doesn't know why because not only do they look very different, but their tastes are different, too - even down to the flavours of their lip balm. For sunny, popular Hannah loves to try new things, and Susan stays with the same lip balm she's always known.

But perhaps she should try something new.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling.

This story has been written for Lea (mugglegirlmarauder) on the occasion of her birthday. Although she is a Gryffindor here, Pottermore begs to differ and has wisely put her in Hufflepuff.

Thank also to Natalie (hestiajones) for the pairing and the lip balm. I'm not sure the story quite does your inspiration justice :(.

Aw! This is so cute! I love that you used characters we don't know much about, and really gave them personality, cause honestly, who is Susan Bones except that one Hufflepuff girl? Really great.

Author's Response: Thank you. Although, I'll venture that Susan Bones is more that just that one Hufflepuff girl. She's also brave enough to join DA, fight at the Battle and loses most of her family to Voldemort. I like writing minor characters though because there's much more scope for stories.
