Pure & Proud by SeaIsleWitch

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Draco Malfoy and Pansy Parkinson were destined to share a privileged life until the devastating circumstances of their sixth year at Hogwarts tore them apart. Five years later, they separately strive to come to terms with the past and proceed with a life they did not expect…alone. Pure & Proud is presented through alternating chapters of Draco's brooding journal and Pansy's idiosyncratic diary.

~ Pansy Parkinson is written by Sea Isle Witch ~ Twenty-two year old Pansy seemingly has everything a young witch could desire; yet she struggles to build a life for herself independent of her pure-blood family's expectations and without her one true love. From the pages of her private diary, Miss Parkinson shares a précis of the past five years and then gives us a glimpse of her current challenges.

~ Draco Malfoy is written by Desslok and Sea Isle Witch ~ After spending a year on the run and then a year in Azkaban, Draco Malfoy was expelled from England by the Ministry of Magic. He spent the last three years travelling the Continent until he realised it was time to come home. Mr Malfoy discloses his journey back from exile, beginning with a statement to the Ministry of Magic in November of 2002. Complete!

This story was brilliant. I wasn't sure I would want to read a Draco/Pansy story because I never liked Pansy in the books but I'm glad I did. You made it possible to empathise with the characters without making them out of character.
Really enjoyed it :)

The Wrong Werewolf by A House Elf

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: It wasn't really that exotic. There were no "damsels in distress" or deadly dangerous dragons lurking school grounds. Voldemort didn't use Veritaserum to make Lily admit she was madly in love with James. James didn't offer to become a Death Eater to save Lily.

But there was a werewolf.

That idea was genius! Great characterisation too :)

The Nature Of Courage by Vindictus Viridian

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: In Rowling's books, we see most Sortings yield five boys to each House, and yet there were only four Marauders. What happened to the other one?

This story was submitted for the "You Sorted WHERE?" One-Shot challenge.

That was hilariously brilliant!

'Rolling his eyes, Sirius muttered, “See? Completely hopeless.” More loudly, he added, “It wasn’t cold water!”

After a very long silence, there came a “Thanks” so frosty James thought it probably froze the bathwater to ice on its own.'

This bit made me laugh out loud. I love Severus. He so should have been a Gryffindor.

Diamonds of Glass by Gin_Drinka

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: There are rules about who he can be. There are rules about who he can love. And there are rules about how much peole are really worth.

Severus Snape doesn't agree with the rules.

There might still be a little hope left to be had, because you can find diamonds in mounds of broken glass.

I really liked this story, it's an interesting thought that the Black family may have been close at times, and seeing the relationship between a young SIrius and Regulus. Very well written :)

The Fourth Estate by OliveOil_Med

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: After The Quibbler is banned from the school, a group of Ravenclaws answer by publishing their own secret newspaper, The Fourth Estate, and leaving copies around various points of Hogwarts for the students to read. If any of them are caught, the worst wrath possible will fall on their heads.

But that fear has done nothing to stop them.

I am OliveOil_Med of Ravenclaw, and this my story for the Term Challange, for Project Censored.

Brilliant story! I think you're completely right that the Ravenclaws would be doing something dangerous and would believe in a free press, and I loved the whole plot. And the pink biscuits :)

This Time by Subversa

Great story, although some parts had a little too much detail. I thought the struggle between the two sides of Snape was very interesting and he really deserved that second chance at life. :)

No Contest by WeasleyMom

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary:
Sunshine spilled down onto the small grassy spot through a window in the tall trees. She stood a couple of yards back, staring at eleven letters cut into rock. It was beautiful, and yet, to Hermione’s eyes, nowhere near a worthy enough tribute for a life so full of rambunctious joy.

The Triumph of Evil by A H

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: The war has ended, but even with so many years gone by, it can still arouse fear and anger in the wizarding world. Draco Malfoy, released from his sentence in Azkaban, must deal with this fact while trying to readjust to life after war.
Reviewer: DontSayImpossible Signed
Date: 07/21/11 Title: Chapter 1: The Triumph of Evil

You wrote the way society reacted to Draco very believably, it's a shame so many people don't think of giving second chances.
Your characterisation of Draco was really good; how he tried to keep his pride but found getting back to a normal life difficult (not helped by everyone he met).
The ending was so sad, poor Draco.

Shrouds by Equinox Chick

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Not all Voldemort’s victims were on the side of right.

Over a year has passed since the Battle of Hogwarts. Families grieve, but their dead are remembered with honour.

For Draco Malfoy it has been a year of nothing. Merely existing, he is bound tightly to his past as if enveloped in a shroud, unwilling to accept help. It takes a chance encounter on a cobbled street to jerk him into the realisation that he cannot go on like this. A chance encounter with the one person who has most cause to hate him.

But shrouds, however tightly bound, unravel.

A huge thank you to Natalie (hestiajones) who put her laminated canon card in jeopardy by beta'ing this fic and being very supportive all the way through.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling. Her lawyers agree, so please don't mistake us. I just like taking the odd liberty (ahem) with her characters (and pairings)

Nominated for two QSQ's in Best Non-Canon Romance and also Best Post Hogwarts story for 2011. Thank you.

This is an amazing story. I thought the characterisation was really good; you didn't try to change the characters too much to make them work. Not quite the ending I would have liked, but it's probably more realistic than a D/H happy ever after ending.
All in all, really enjoyed it.

Author's Response: Thank you very much. Mmm, a few people wanted a different ending, but this was in keeping with my feelings about the pairing. However, I haven't ruled out a sequel ... ~Carole~

Remembering Lily by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: A lonely figure walks down the street, long auburn hair trailing behind her in the blustery wind. She pulls a red wool coat snug around her, gloved hands tucked into pockets as she wanders the sidewalk, glancing up at the shop fronts. She is young, but her face is lined with sadness, as if searching for something she has lost. Her green eyes long for answers.

Across the way a young man stops and stares at the woman in the red coat, hardly daring to believe it might be her. And yet as she turns and walks back up the street, he knows it is, and his heart stops beating for a moment. He blinks, just to see if she will disappear from his life once more, like she did over a year ago.

She doesn't.

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: An incredibly valuable item has gone missing, and everybody is completely stumped. There is no way a stranger could have entered the room! How was the crime committed? More importantly, whodunit? Were those blue beads on the floor before? What about those two mugs on the table? Why is Pansy sitting on Blaise’s lap?

Theodore Nott investigates.

I never thought I really liked mysteries but this story changed my mind.
I thought the characterisation was great, especially that of Theodore and Susan. We don't hear much about them in the books so it was good to read a story where they were major characters, and they came across as very believable. Theodore the underlooked genius, Susan the secretly adventurous spy.
I loved Blaise, I could imagine him having that sense of humour and flirting with too many girls at once.
I do think you were a little harsh on Draco - admittedly some people are too nice to him - but he is only a teenager who's been fed these ideals his whole life; he's never had a chance to be a good person. He was well characterised most of the time though.
I don't have much patience with Pansy; she just hides behind Draco.
You explained the mystery very well; I'm intrigued by how Theodore just lets Susan go.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review.
Theodore and Susan (particularly Susan) appear several of my other stories (Aurors and Schoolgirls, the MIT stories) and I’m trying to keep Susan serious, hard working and rather buttoned up in all of my stories. Lavender would be astonished by her actions here.
To some extent I must disagree with you about Draco. He’s an out and out racist bully who exhibits that behaviour whenever he’s secure. He has also had several chances to be a good person. His actions in the Room of Requirement during the battle show that he is still trying to please Voldemort. He (cunningly) wants to know what Harry is up to and he stops Crabbe and Goyle from killing Harry in order to get information. However, he has no qualms about letting them cast killing curses at Hermione or Ron. Pansy is simply a mean girl.
It serves Theodore's purpose to let Susan free. He has information which could get her killed, and she knows it. She can't be sure why he hasn't turned her in. Is he secretly on their side? Is he simply waiting for an opportunity to blackmail her?
