I'm a truck driver who was introduced to Harry Potter by my daughter in 1999. The books are fantastic, the movies are some of the best made, and the fanfic is better than that I've read in Star Trek, Buffy, and even the Xena universes.

BTW, the Sorting Hat put me exactly where I belong, in Gryffindor.

Harry Potter and the Magical Myths by nuw255

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: A man from Interpol comes to question Harry Potter as part of a murder investigation. How will Harry react? And how will this affect his search for Lord Voldemort’s Horcruxes? Plus, the question we all want answered: What will happen with Ginny?

This story picks up immediately after HBP, and is very slightly AU. But hey, aren’t they all?

That was indeed a most evil ciffie! But this was a fantastic chapter, well worth reading.

Author's Response: Thanks! That seems to be the consensus around here, and I\'ll take it. I\'m glad you liked the chapter so much, and I really hope the next one lives up to expectations.

A great bit of backstory! Loved the bits about James, Serius, etc., that showed both originality and knowledge of JKR's characters. Keep writing!

I'm In Love With My Car by MaiaMadness

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: “I’m holding your wheel! All I hear is your gear! I’m cruising in overdrive. Don’t have to listen to no one in the middle talk jive. I’m in love with my car. Got a feel for my Automobile…” The muggle car was beautiful and bright turquoise. It wasn’t big or suave. It was not one of those fancy, big American cars. It was simply a cute little Ford Anglia. But Arthur Weasley loved it!

Third short in my A Night at the Opera series!

FWIW, I drive a big rig named Luna. She's driving me crazy, a little bit at a time, as she demonstrates yet another quirk that I have to figure out how to fix or live with. I *really* understand Arthur Weasley.

Author's Response: Lol, I\'m glad someone can identify! :)

Memories by mcgonagallfan

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

Wow! I am impressed with your story. I'd guess you've lost someone you loved at some point; you captured the grief perfectly.

Author's Response: Thank you so much. No, i haven\'t lost anyone i loved, though. I was just having one of my \'creative wave lenghts\'.* lol*

I dream of Hermione Granger by evanescence17

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: I've seen her all this time at Hogwarts. People misjudge her as an arrogant, bossy and a know-it-all. But I know better. She's helped me out of several tight situations, sometimes at the cost of her own embarrassment. But she's the only person who treats me as her friend. She does not feel humiliated in my company as others do. She is my first crush and my last hope...

…I dream of Hermione Granger.

As a mere guy, I can tell you that your story rings true! There were a few girls along the way that inspired me, helped me, whom I loved, but I could never talk to them and tell them that.

Also, not every love story has to end up with the couple acknowledging their love and getting married.

Author's Response: Thanks Trucker for the review...a bit weird but nice neverthless ; ) Cheerio

The Confiscated Item by black_ink

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Ever wonder how Filch got a hold of the Marauders Map? That would mean that the Marauders accidentally left it somewhere in the castle…or maybe it wasn’t an accident. Maybe they left it on purpose. This is a short tale of how Filch got the map, and how the Weasley twins got it after...
Could be considered a sequel to "Map Making," but can be read alone.

Date: 06/24/06 Title: Chapter 1: The Confiscated Item

My only quibble is that I thought the map was in a drawer marked "confiscated and dangerous."

Author's Response: Was it? Fred and George must have told Harry they found it there. Well, \"Unknown Objects\" works, too, since its unknown to Filch. Hope you liked it!! ~Sara

Those Deep Blue Need You Eyes by Weasleyboyfreak

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: This story starts out right were HBP left off. Ron and Hermione obviously have feelings for each other. All they need is a little help, confidence, and a push in the right direction. Will Harry and Ginny get back together in their quest to push together their best friends? Will Harry and his friends be able to destroy Voldemort? It will take love, friendship, strength, and trust to be able to free the wizarding world from the clutches of the Dark Lord.

I'm enjoying the story, but when does Ron get dressed? As far as I can see he was still wearing the towel when he discovered Harry, still in the towel when Hermione came running in, and still in it at the end of the chapter!

Author's Response: You know what, your right. I have had many drafts of this chapter, and I think I picked the one were Ron doesn\'t get dressed...lol. I\'ll go in and make an edit. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. :)

The Portrait Painter by coppercurls

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: It is England in the early 1800's, Bonapart is reigning in France and tensions between the two countries are running high. Phillip must face the secrets of his past while still surviving in the present. It takes the portrait of a remarkable girl to teach him that he can find trust in a world gone mad.

I also was blown away by your imaginative, touching piece. As an OC story, it stood very well, leaving me wondering how intertwined the Magical and Muggle worlds may have been at different times. For a witch and wizard to be familiar with classical authors who we'd presume were Muggle felt right to me. I can't accept that all Magical folks were as oblivious to Muggle culture as the Weasleys in the HP era.

Anyway, Portrait Painter (and you) are now among my favorites.

Author's Response: Thank you very much! I believe that in the past when witchcraft was actually believed in and persecuted, a witch or wizard would have to be far more aware of the muggle world than a witch or wizard living in the skeptical modern world today. Besides, it really is amazing how much magical theory and philosophy actually overlap! Anyway, thanks again for your lovely review and compliments!

The Old Box in the Chestnut Tree by sophianwin

A letter about life.
A letter about love of life.
A letter that will hopefully never be sent.

Home by malko050987

As Mark Twain, in the voice of Adam, said of Eve, "Wheresoever she was, there was Eden." Your story reminds me of that.

Author's Response: Glad you like the story :) Thank you for the very flattering review :) Chris

A Dream Wedding by blacsilver_serpent

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: An excerpt from the story:
A silver-white stream of flame wrapped itself around his and her hands. Ginny’s hand found Harry’s and Harry felt warmth spreading through his body. As the flames evaporated, they unclasped their hands. Their hands which held a rose petal earlier now held a silver ring. He took the ring on his palm and put it on her left ring finger and she did the same.

I just found and read "A Dream Wedding." It's beautiful, but there's one sentence I can't quite understand:

I do not them even for half my life, Merlin bless me, but it seems as if I have known these two courageous individuals forever

I think there was a word or two left out?

The Dark Lord's Blog by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: What does Lord Voldemort do in his spare time? Well, that's an excellent question. Who would have known that the Dark Lord has a blog? (He also has a loyal following of readers, most of whom are Death Eaters and who post their comments.) Voldemort dispenses advice on everything from murder methods to germ protection to Power Rangers to shoes, and gives an account of the life of an evil overlord. But is he posting too much personal information online? And will Harry read it and find out more about the Dark Lord than Voldemort ever intended? Read and see.

WARNING: Extremely OOC behaviour from almost all.

RUNNER-UP in the 2007 Quicksilver Quills Awards for Best Humour fic! Also nominated like 21 times, because apparently my readers are as insane as I am!

Finally, something to criticise: Labor Day and white shoes -- That's a Yankee thing, not British at all as far as I can tell using Wikipedia, though Canada has it on May 1 and Australia has it on different dates depending on where you are...

Author's Response: That\'s true... I kind of was just writing this for my sister, and submitted it to MNFF to see if I would get a rejection slip, because all of my other stories were rejected without notification. Imagine my surprise when it was accepted!

My Girl by HPOD Sufferer

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

Their plan not to return to Hogwarts is changed with the reading of Dumbledore’s will. Harry must discover that his friends are a greater help then he can imagine and how to use the “Power the Dark Lord knows not.” With a little romance, action, mystery and even Quidditch along the way, Harry will find out if he and his friends can defeat the greatest Dark Wizard of the age.

This story was completely written before the release of DH or the Order of the Phoenix movie. Any similarities are entirely coincidental.

I'm enjoying your story immensely, but I found the beginning of Chapter 6, Never Alone, to be confusing. I couldn't tell if Harry was on the grounds at Hogwarts, in a kitchen at Grimauld Place, or someplace else. Please go back and review those first few paragraphs and see if you can straighten it out.

Author's Response: Thanks for the information. I will go back and see if it needs some re working. Keep letting me know when things are difficult to understand or confussing.

A Past Reclaimed by nuw255

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Sequel to A Stolen Past. Please read that story first, as this one really won’t make sense if you don’t.

Harry Potter has rejoined the Wizarding world after a year-long absence, but still has no memory of his time at Hogwarts. Will he ever get his memory back? Will he be able to pass his classes without it? And most importantly, will he ever be able to defeat Lord Voldemort? Read on as the last of the mysteries introduced in A Stolen Past are finally revealed.

This is a story of friendship and mystery, with a healthy dose of H/G thrown in for good measure.

Thanks for the most addicting series of stories I've ever read in fanfiction. The only thing I have to disagree with you on is the fingernails thing -- according to Wikipedia, "It is a myth that nails and hair will continue growing for several days after death. The appearance of growth is actually caused by the retraction of skin as the surrounding tissue dehydrates (desiccation), making nails and hair more prominent." OTOH, Sirius having to trim his toenails before he could walk any real distance was FUNNY!

Author's Response: Curse you, Wikipedia! I honestly thought that was real. Guess that\'s what I get for listening to TV. Anyway, I\'m glad you enjoyed the story despite that little screw up. I think I\'ll leave it in, though. Mainly because I\'m too lazy to change it, but also because you\'re right: the part with Sirius having to clip his toenails was just funny. :-)

Date: 03/20/07 Title: Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Beyond the Veil

One last comment about toenails, hair, etc.: Who's to say that what is only a myth for us Muggles isn't real for Wizards?

Author's Response: *grin* Good point! I think I\'ll use that as my excuse from now on. ;-)

Hair of a Dog by Starbuckx

Definitely a fun, little story. I liked it!

But there is a word missing from the following:

“Of course not, mate. We’d never do something like that you.”

Author's Response: Thank you so much for pointing that out! I went and corrected it. :) And, I\'m glad you liked it. :D
