Hi! My name is Sammie, hence the name MissSammiekins. I love everything about Harry Potter, and my dream is to marry Daniel Radcliffe someday. My favorite category (and OTP) is Lily/James, closely followed by Marauder Era and most romances. The only ships I won't read are Harry/Hermione, Draco/Hermione, Draco/Ginny, Snape/Hermione, Anyone-but-James/Lily, and slash, although I'm okay with femmeslash. Is there anything else you need to know? Oh yeah, I'm a proud Slytherin. We're cooler than you'll ever be. ;)
Update info
From Potter to...James? - on a short hiatus (please contact me if you want details)
Thanks so much to Celestial Melody for the amazing banner!
GORGEOUS Dan banner by my fellow Slyth Sarakime. *drools*
Thank you Abbi for this wonderful banner!
Thanks to the lovely StacyLC for my Aly & AJ author's page banner. :)
Oh. My. God.
I just finished reading the teaser, and I'm in shock. Is Harry making a prophecy?
You seriously have got to tell me where you're posting the sequel to the sequel, since you said that it might not be on this site. Please? :)
Well the chapter in general was pretty good...I don't know what to say, I'm too overwhelmed by the teaser! Haha
~Sammie
Wow, Alyssa's not just a slut, she's a smart slut. She kinda reminds me of Romilda Vane...Now I feel bad for James too, but I still feel worse for Lily. And I still don't trust Brigh, he seems a little too...what's the right word?...sneaky? creepy? shrewd? He's using Lily's sadness to get closer to her, and he'll probably end up hurting her. But, as always, this is an amazing chapter! I can't wait to read more!
Author's Response: Thanks! I have to say I\'ve never noticed Alyssa\'s comparison to Romilda Vane. Interesting...
Your reasons for not trusting Brigh made me laugh out loud. Very insightful conclusions, I must say. Chapter 17 will be submitted this weekend.
Miss Radcliffe~
lmao, nice Rent reference. 'They taste the same' 'If you close your eyes.' Haha, once you said "meatless meatballs," I knew it was Rent.
Back to the story. I feel so bad for Lily! That Alyssa girl is such a slut! Urgh, she makes me mad! I hope she gets what's coming to her! That Brigh guy (haha, it ryhmes!) is also a little creepy.
I really liked that the Marauders were the band. I kinda thought they might be, and it turns out I was right. :) lol but it was a really good idea! Keep up the good work!
Author's Response: Correct! Unfortunately, the prize has already been given out to the first people who guessed the right answer. Maybe you\'ll get the next broadway allusion. I\'m glad you liked the band idea because I was a bit afraid readers would think it was corny or not believeable. Alyssa represents the girl in every high school, middle school, college, or workplace that is, I quote you, a slut. I\'ll submit chapter 16 momentarily as soon as I finish responding to these awesome reviews!
Miss Radcliffe~
Just another thing...I was just wondering, since you seem to be a Broadway fan, have you seen Spring Awakening yet? If yes, wasn't it amazing!? If no, you have to see it, because it's amazing! Just wondering...
Author's Response: No I haven\'t seen it, but my friend, who is also broadway obsessed, won\'t stop talking about it. I\'ll ask her for the CD.
Miss Radcliffe~
Kenneth Jennings? Like that Jeopardy guy? :)
Good chapter, although a little short. I hope Lily lets James explain soon!
There was only one thing that bothered me. In the very beginning of the chapter, McGonagall said that people make the mistake of flicking their wands downward, then when James did the spell he pointed his wand down, and it was supposedly perfect. Maybe it was a typo? If I'm just obliviously missing something, please tell me!
~Sammie
Author's Response: Actually, I totally made up the name Kenneth Jennings. About the wand thing, I\"ll check up on that. I was trying to make an allusion to the spell McGonagall taught the students in CoS. The spell was \"Ferreverto\" and it changed an animal into a goblet. I looked up Latin translation stuff and came up with Ferremuto. Thanks!
Miss Radcliffe~
Wow, that was such a good chapter! At first I thought the idea of a spirit journey was strange, but after reading it I rather like the idea. Ginny playing Gin Rummy....very punny. Haha, I think I'm even wierder than you. :)
~Sammie
Just wanted to let you know that this is one of my favorite stories ever! You really got me into the whole Voldemort/Hermione thing, even though, truthfully, I don't like it all that much.
I have a guess about what might happen...when Hermione goes back to the future...is that why Tom really turns evil? Because he lost the love of his life? If that is what happens, it's so sad!! I hope it doesn't happen, but with my limited knowledge of your plans for the story, it's all I can think of at the moment. I can't wait for the next chapter!
~Sammie
Wow, that was so powerful and emotional. And beautiful, in a sad way. Does that make any sense? In case you can't understand my blabbering, I mean this review in the best way possible. I absolutely love this story, and it will remain one of my all time favorites, just like that black rose will never die. :')
~Sammie
I hope Snape gets what he deserves.... What a jerk! But that part about her first kiss was so cute, even though I felt bad for Sirius for having to put up with hearing it. Lol, but it was a really amazing chapter in a really amazing story!
~Sammie
Author's Response: Oh...so harsh. Hahaha. I\'m glad you liked that bit. I don\'t think Sirius liked it either, but everyone else did. HAha. Thank you soooo much! :-)
Eeek! I absolutely love this story! It's definitely going on my favorites list :) I'm happy Peter played a (somewhat) bigger part in this chapter, he seems to be missing quite frequently. I also loved the whole switching partners thing.
Keep up the good work,
Sammie
Author's Response: YAY! Woot. Thanks! Haha. Yeah, I\'m not a fan of Peter (for obvious reasons). I\'m glad you liked that idea. I need an Alka Seltzer..... *sniffles*
Wow, I'm totally in love with this story! I especially loved the part at the end of chapter 23 when James asks Lily to marry her and then takes it back and she goes all mental on him. It was funny :) I can't wait to read the next chapter.
~Sammie
Author's Response: Great, funny and original was what I was aiming for! :) Thanx for reviewing!
Within the Marauder band of Merry Men, Sirius is the dashing Will Scarlet. Seventh year, his goal is not to rob the rich, but to help poor Robin woo Maid Lily, avoid sermons from Friar Moony, aid a rat in need, and win the love of a fair lady.
Nominated for a Quicksilver Quill for Best Romance- Non Canon.
*Chapter 30 is 'To Be Loved'*
Mine, he thought, tracing her curves with his fingertips.
That line had me cracking up! I had a mental image of little kids stealing toys and screaming "MINE!" :)
The only criticism I have about this chapter is about the Imperius Curse. If Rosmerta could overcome the curse in her twenties, how could she not overcome it in Harry's time? Remember, she was under the spell in the sixth book...
Besides that, congrats on another amazing chapter!
Author's Response: Thank you! =] From what I understand about the curse, it depends on what the person under the curse is told to do. Like people who are hypnotized that break out of it the moment they\'re asked to do something out of character. If the person under the Imperius is told to do something, and it\'s against their character, (like kiss someone they don\'t want to!) they can find the strength to break free. In the other situation, Rosmerta was told to give something...that\'s not against her nature...she is giving...so she wasn\'t able to break free.
“No one tried to take your place,” a first year said.
He winked at the little girl. “That’s because nobody can, love.”
Sirius reminded me of Captain Jack Sparrow when he said that. ;) Keep up the good work!
Author's Response: In a later chapter, Rosmerta has been reading a pirate romance novel and has a fantasy where she\'s the governor\'s daughter and Captain \'Black Dog\' captures her ship. :D I think there is a resemblance in character types--bold and roguish with good hearts.
It's over?! :O
Wow, I'm becoming obsessed with Peter! This story just makes him seem so interesting, and I feel like his story just isn't over. I mean, obviously it's not, but umm....you know what I mean. So did Jane really still like him? Or did she not get the bracelet...hmmm...I shall ponder that later. :)
Aww, Sirius and Rosmerta are so cute together! I was cracking up when she was high, although I felt kind of sorry for her, because she couldn't control her actions. Poor Rosmerta!
That part with Lily and James and their "luck" before they went into Dumbledore's office was amusing. I was really jealous of Lily though. *whispers* Don't tell, but I get extremely jealous of both her and Ginny. Hehe, but that's beside the point.
I can't wait for those one shots!
~Sammie
Author's Response: Yes, Jane still liked him, that was what the rat was about. I can\'t say that she continues to like him. I have a feeling that after they leave Hogwarts, Peter pushes her away with his deceitfullness. LOL at being jealous. I think that\'s the hardest thing to do, write the female characters in a way that the female readers think they deserve the HP hottie they\'re paired with...even if it\'s grudging acceptance, heh. Thanks, Sammie!
Wow, I really like your story! :) The thing that really struck me though, was how Peter said he would be Sirius' 'secret keeper'. It made me think about why Sirius asked James and Lily to switch their secret keeper to Peter in the not so distant future. It makes sense, according to what's happened so far in your fic, that Peter had kept secrets for Sirius before, so of course Sirius would trust him again. And since Remus told Peter about Rosmerta, it makes sense that Sirius wouldn't trust him as much in the future...Now you've really got me thinking...
Anyways, I can't wait for an update! I love this story and I can't wait to see what happens next!
~Sammie
Author's Response: Yay, you thought James and Lily when you read that! *does happy dance* I didn\'t want to go heavy-handed on the foreshadowing, but I couldn\'t resist, so you made me smile. :)
“I’m good at not being caught.”
Oh. My. God.
What's up with Peter? What's he planning? I mean, we all know what he's planning, but....you know what I mean. :O
On a different note, I wish Sirius and Rosmerta would just say they love each other already! I mean, it's pretty darn obvious! Urgh, they're just too stubburn!
Once again, we begin to see why Sirius doesn't trust Remus, and why he ends up thinking he's the Death Eater in the group.
Keep up the amazing work!
~Sammie
Author's Response: Nothing much is up with Peter...now...I was just trying to show a little of his character that will worsen with time....same with Sirius\' suspicions about Remus. Sirius and Rosmerta are stubborn, but I think you\'ll like how things resolve next chap! =]
Wow, I am like in love with this story! Not literally, of course, but you know what I mean. I know it wasn't in this chapter, but I loved the thing about when Lily and James were drunk and he proposed. That was so funny! This is definitely going on my favorites. :)
~Sammie
Author's Response: I\'m gonna have to take what you wrote literally because I\'m in love with this story as well! That makes at least two of us! And I really hope every other reviewer feels the same! Now about Lil and Jamie being drunk-everybody seems to like that part-you\'ll love it when it comes but it\'s gonna be in a few chapters! So wait, see and review!
No. I will not let the next chapter be the end. Unless there's a sequel in the works... But seriously, this fic is one of my all time favorites, and I'll hate to see it finished. That's how great it is! :)
Author's Response: I\'m terribly sorry to say this, but at the minute there is no sequel ... although I\'m glad and honoured you like it so much ... Thanks for reviewing.
This is such a good story! It's full of suspense about Charlie, but there's also tons of humor added by reading it through Snape's point of view. Two of my favorite lines were, "And to think that some of those moronic students actually thought I was one of them [vampires]!" and "You are a witch, are you not? I’m sure that you’re familiar with the way the magical world works, and that sometimes things just magically happen. Like magic."
The only criticism I have is that there are a few spelling and grammar mistakes, so watch out for those. But besides that, this story is great and there is nothing I would change. :)
~Sammie
Author's Response: Hehehe thank you. It was my first Gauntlet, and I could have more fun with this Snape since it was set before HBP. Glad you liked it!
*sings loudly* Let it be! Let it be! Let it be, oh let it beeeeee!
I love your story, it's one of my all time favorites! :) It's different, in a good way. Like the fact that Lily didn't just jump into James' arms after he saved her, and how she's making him apologize to everyone...I'm just scared because of the title of the next chapter! Does James lose the challenge? Does he give up? Does he do something stupid? The suspense is killing me!!
Author's Response: I\'m glad you like, thanks for the review! I did give everyone the title as a bit of a teaser, I confess, but hopefully I\'ll have the next chapter posted soon!
