Stories

The Forest of the Night by Laeticia

Rated: Professors •
Summary: This poem is about Lupin's transformation from human to werewolf. It takes place around his first year, before he lets the rest of the Marauders in on his "furry little problem."

Thrice Defied by leighpotter

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: So, it’s James and Lily’s last year at Hogwarts.
All the year ahead of them full of spells, arguments, Quidditch, arguments, detention, arguments...But, this time, something is different. James Potter is more determined than ever to win Lily Evans’s heart and she seems to be considering.

Maybe, just maybe, a year of rule-breaking, rule-following and fighting for their lives will liven up the romance at Hogwarts...
A story that’s centred on the (inevitable!) romance of Lily and James but also one that goes into the darker sides of that last seventh year. Prepare yourselves for a little R.A.B. , a few Horcuxes, a dash of lovesick Severus and more than a few brilliant moments between the fights, the laughs, the fluff and the danger!

Warnings for extra funny Sirius and Remus moments (that include a love-potion gone wrong and marriage proposals due to drink) , alarming giggling spells from a character who bears more than a resemblance to our own Loony Lovegood, Quidditch talk from a fun Alice Vance, evil Bellatrix and Narcissa, and Lily and James in the middle of it, falling in love without knowing...

AU warning (not for some horrifying reason as you may assume – like Lily dying or Remus turning into a chicken – but because two of the characters – namely Lucius and Bella – are in Lily and James’ seventh year as well when we know from canon that they're older! Just a minor difference but then I really needed some nastiness in the story!)

The Unexplained Files by Ron x Hermione

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: After the last battle Ron and Hermione started a relationship. But Ron's love for being an Auror soon surpasses Hermione, and they break it off, both heartbroken and discouraged. Hermione’s love for books has obscured her mind, and she soon discovers a tiny shop on the outskirts of Muggle London to establish a bookstore, a place where she can wield her own adoration as well as assist others in theirs. She leaves the magical world and all of the friends she's made behind with it. She hides her wand in a box under bed, away from any harm or pretense to use it. Fairly soon, what had started out as a shop that many thought would go out of business in weeks had established itself as a very worthwhile enterprise. Mark, Hermione's boyfriend, is constantly toying with her nerves, his abusive and whiny persona taking its toll on her life.

On a very important date in Muggle London, Mark proposes to Hermione under the oddest of circumstances, and Hermione glimpses Ron for the first time in nearly a year. Her love for him causes Mark to be outraged, and they leave the scene they have made in shambles.

Ron and Hermione are soon dating again, now that their lives have settled and their jobs are at ease. All is going well until Hermione begins to show signs of sickness. Bruises are forming on her body and she can't make out where they came from. She dismisses them and blames it on clumsiness, but the headaches become worse and worse until one day she finally collapses and is taken to St. Mungo's.

Hermione's illness turns out to be worse than anyone could have ever imagined. Will she be able to overcome it, and will true love prevail it all?

This is a new and improved, revamped version of this story. It has been rewritten halfway in compliance with DH. The older story, with all of its lovely reviews, have been regretfully deleted to make room for this version. Enjoy!

The Magnificent Malfoy by Fantasium

Rated: Professors •
Summary:
Some said he had been a Death Eater, others that he had fought bravely for the Ministry during the war. Nearly everyone took advantage of his fabulous hospitality. And fabulous it was; in his superb Wiltshire home he gave the most amazing parties, and not the least remarkable thing about them was that few people could recognise their host. He seemed to be a man without a background, without history, whose eyes were always searching the glittering crowds for something… or someone?

These Lives We Live by Gin_Drinka

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: These lives we live are not bright...

Petunia wishes she were a star.

These lives we live are not worth memory...

Peter wishes to be like his friends.

The lives we live are just tiles.

Regulus wishes he were alive.

Every life means something.

The Only Thing by moonymaniac

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Lily Potter’s love and sacrifice for her son is legend. But there was another member of the Potter family. James Potter was more than an arrogant toerag who finally grew up, more than a Marauder, more than a member of the Order of the Phoenix. He was a father.

How on earth would a man like James Potter handle that responsibility, at the tender age of twenty, especially at a time when his world was crumbling all around him?

The Unknown Village by Lord Great Chamberlain

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary:

Dumbledore was removed as Headmaster of Hogwarts for a period of time in both 1993 and 1996. We have little idea of where we went or got up to. As he escapes imprisonment by the Ministry in OOTP, he tells Cornelius Fudge, "I have absolutely no intention of being sent to Azkaban. I could break out, of course - but what a waste of time, and frankly, I can think of a whole host of things I would rather be doing."

The Unknown Village explores where Dumbledore went in 1996 and just what he'd rather be doing than wasting his time breaking out of Azkaban as Voldemort closes in on Harry.
