Very nice story, update as soon as possible. It's interesting that you have Hermione apologizing to Harry. I think she would be more likely to be ashamed of letting Snape kill Dumbledore than obsessing over Ron. She said several time that she dsidn't care who Ron was kissing but she was really upset about the incident with Flitwick in Snape's office. It wasn't her fault but she might be upset by it anyway. I think Harry owes Hermione an apology or two for the way he treated her in HBP, especially over the Felix Felicis incident at the first Quidditch game. But he would have an easier time forgiving her for being wrong than for being right.
Do not give up the ship! Your story is right on target! The way I read HBP is that Hermione still loves Harry. She attacked Ron with birds because he interrupted what could have been an important moment between her and Harry. Even towards the end of the book, Hermione cares more about Harry than she does about Ron. So she cried on Ron's shoulder, big deal. When Harry faces up to the fact that he needs to forgive Hermione for being right about going to the Department of Mysteries he will finally quit flitting around with pretty faces and realize that he needs Hermione. Frankly I think JKR was playing a little game with the kids she invited to the interview.
What a wonderful idea! Fred and George are the two of the best characters in the HP series. I have wondered why they chose to give the Marauder's Map to Harry when they were in their 5th year. It was obviously not something they gave up in order to have more time to study for their O.W.L.s. Perhaps they made another one or found something better? Or maybe they felt it was time to get rid of the evidence.
Author's Response: Well, we'll see what happens there.... thanks for the review!
Another excellent story. It is hard to see how the friendship between Harry and Ron could survive the awakening of a Harry - Hermione union but your idea is one possibility. Hermione has been very helpful to Ginny and it is possible that she might return the favor. It's going to be a long wait for book 7.
1st story in a series of Hermione/Draco one-shots (Check out my author page for more information)
Excellent! The most plausible Draco-Hermione romance ever written!
Author's Response: Lol, thank you!
Great beginning. I'm rather new to MNFF and haven't read your first version but the polish really shows in this chapter. It's always better when an author takes the time to rewrite and touch up a work. The idea of Harry being bored as an Auror is very good. After Voldemort it would have to be a letdown. Hermione works in Muggle relations? She could do anything! Why did she settle for that job?
It's a good story. King's Cross station at midnight is a great place for the final battle. The idea that both Malfoy and Snape are really good and that Dumbledore wanted to be killed fits right in with the idea that once Hermione and Ron start snogging each other they will stop bickering and be a happy couple and Ron will become the smart and responsible one. Right.
Author's Response: LOL. But, of course! Thanks :)
Good Story. I do wonder about Snape being back in his old position as potions master. I suppose you are working on the premise that he is really not a follower of Voldemort. Is this story AU ignoring HBP (which is OK), or do you have some idea that explains the murder of Dumbledore but keeps Snape on the good guys side?
Author's Response: Just so you know, this is an AU ignoring HBP...and I was going to explain HBP away but I thought that would detract from the original intent of my story so I just made it AU, good question though, I hope that's okay!
Your story is very well written. I think your characterizations of the Dursleys and Mrs. Figg are very much in character. Harry certainly has his work cut out for him. At the end of HBP he does not even have a clear plan to learn the identity of RAB and the fate of the third Horcrux. I'm looking forward to learning your ideas about the "Soul Guide."
Author's Response: Why, thank you, I'm so glad you think it was well written. And thanks for your compliment on the charactarizion of the characters. I do try to keep them like they are in the books, so I'm glad you liked them. You're right, Harry does have his work cut out for him, in the books and in my FF. And as for learning my ideas about the "Soul Guide" I hope you'll get to learn them fast. Thank you very much for you review, it really does make my day :)

Author's Response: Wow, two reviews. Thanks again. LOL!!!! Oopsie!!!!!!!
It's a good start keep it up! Dumbledore comes back as a spiritual guide? It's a bit STAR WARS-ish isn't it? I think Ginny would be more forgiving towards Harry, she's idolized him for so long. Harry probably won't tell Ginny about the Horcruxes. If LV finds out what Harry is trying to do he could make the task impossible. But that's just my opinion and your guess is reasonably probable too. R/Hr? Yeah Yeah, People who fight and hurt each other must be in love and when they get married all of their problems will go away. Don't you ever wonder why there are so many divorces?
Author's Response: When I wrote Dumbledore as a voice in the wind (and in the letter), I didn't think of it as Star Wars-ish. See, Dumbledore lives on through Harry, as stated in "The Letter," and not as a spiritual being, as Obi-Wan continues to live with the Force. It's hard to explain, but to me, it's WAY different. Ginny does forgive Harry (in chapter 3), but at first she didn't want to--the Weasley stubborness. I think Harry would tell Ginny of the Horcruxes, because she doesn't truly understand why he must put himself in danger. My fan fiction's pretty much all about what I conceive to be true to Harry Potter--what should happen and what should not. As you said, your opinion is yours, and mine is mine. We both bring up good points. I am aware you don't favor Ron/Hermione, due to your reaction at my pairing of them. Jo has finally said it's R/Hr, so I stick with it. It's quite obvious they fancy each other. Yes, they fight, but that doesn't mean they would divorce (they shouldn't be marrying just now, anyway). They can work it out, I think. Ron and Hermione are...special. The divorce rate is alarmingly high, I agree. And just because people get along doesn't mean they would be great life partners, either.
It's a good one shot story. I agree that Hermione probably does feel like crying. With Dumbledore gone the danger to Harry has increased immensely. But I think she will work very hard to avoid crying around Harry. Look what happened to Cho. Very well written. I like your other one-shot stories too.
Keep up the good work. Ginny and Seamus? Wasn't she with Neville? Or was it Dean? I'm sure I read something about Harry+Ginny. Is she a collector? Going through the whole set of available Gryffindor boys? Harry and Hermione are soul-mates. Every girl Harry has been seriously interested in (and I don't count Parvati) has been a Seeker. Harry is a Seeker. I think Hermione is a Seeker too, except she flies through books looking for knowledge.
Author's Response: Mmmkay? Haha, sorry, I'm slightly confused. Ginny likes Seamus but that will not last, I can assure you of that because I have planned the next few chapters. Hermione isn't a Seeker but she is Harry's soul-mate (I'll clarify later). But yeah. That's about all.
Keep checking back!
It's a good chapter! Keep up up the good work because it helps us all to pass the time while waiting for the 7th book to come out. I think it is quite unlikely that Snape is good and Dumbledore is alive in JKR's version of the story. But it's possible, so if that's a plot twist you want to use in your story, it's fine! Did Harry buy a new house or did he fix up 12 Grimmauld Place? I hope Ginny's OK. Harry may love Hermione more than anyone else in the world, but he still cares about Ginny.
Author's Response: Yeah, I realize that won't happen in JKR's story but I thought it'd be interesting in mine. It's a new house, by the way. And, yes, he does care about Ginny, and you will hear more about that in Chapter 11. Chapter 10 is a reuniting of two people. Keep reading!
Wow! What a great chapter! You hit the nail on the head with Tragedy and Travesty. Poor Ginny, the truth will set her free. It's right there in HBP, when Harry breaks up with her. He's thinking "She won't say. 'don't do it' or 'be careful'. Harry's thinking about the other girl, the one who would say 'be careful, don't do it'. Harry doesn't want to be idolized, he wants to be loved and that's what he can get from Hermione.
Very Good Story! Well Written. I agree with your thesis about the distance between Harry and Hermione in HBP. I have this idea that maybe Harry was mad at Hermione for being right about not going to the MoM. If Harry had listened to her, Sirius wouldn't have died. When Dumbledore talked about Percy not forgiving the rest of the Weasley's because it was easier to forgive someone for being wrong than for being right, I think he was also talking about Harry and how he might treat Hermione. Then there was the old Potions book. Without Hermione's help Harry would never have gotten an E in potions, and she ended up getting replaced by an old book, some thanks. Well back to your story. Can they hop over the chasm using their brooms? I liked the way you put Hermione on Harry's broom. A little forced physical contact is good for them. Hermione did play Quidditch in HBP and she flew around after the keys in PS/SS. Do you really think she's afraid of flying? If so, it puts her Quidditch playing in a whole new light. As for Ginny, well poor girl. She got a few weeks of kisses from Harry, she'll get over him.
WOW! This is an excellent story! Ron's been taken to Azkaban and Lucius is out. Very clever! If the "loyal" Dementors that guard the prison ever ease up on Ron, what would he see in a mirror? I'm guessing he'd see Lucius Malfoy's face looking back at him.
Author's Response: hehe, thanks King! I\'m glad you like it. :) And I hope you\'ll keep reading... it looks like you\'re on chapter 5, yes? Enjoy the rest! Chapter 11 is coming up soooooon. xOxO
Hi coolman, You are off to a very good start! Keep it up! The first two chapters are well written and creative. I like the fact that you are addressing plot elements like Horcruxes, Voldemort and the war and that it's not just a fluffy romance. The chapters are also nice and long and your story is moving at a good pace. Hermione and Harry actually did spend a lot of time together during year six, they studied together while Ron was snogging Lavender. I'm surprised that you didn't mention Ginny. I think Harry really cares about Ginny, although he loves Hermione too. I do think H/G is over, and I know Harry would pull out all of the stops if Hermione was in danger, but Harry will still think about Ginny. Harry will need the love of some girl, most likely Hermione, to help him get over the post-combat stress syndrome. Over all it's a good story and I'd love to read an update.
Very sweet. She's lucky you know. Her first sign was a missed period. Some girls get to upchuck everything they eat for weeks as a first indication.
Magnificent Job! I like it when Harry realizes that he needs Hermione. She can be a bit of a nag, but it's always done in love. She pushes Harry to do what he needs to do. I can't see R-Hr lasting very long. Can you imagine a computer dating service matching them up? She wants to free house elves, he wishes his family could afford one. They're incompatible intellectually, they have very different ideas about what is funny.
