A writer and nothing else: a man alone in a room with the English language, trying to get human feelings right. ~ John K. Hutchens, New York Herald Tribune, 10 September 1961.

About Me: I'm a fifteen year old girl obsessed with writing and Harry Potter. Naturally, the two seemed to merge into a love of fanfiction! I'm from Australia and I started writing when I was eleven. I see fanfiction as a practice for writing original fiction. That's my dream - to be a writer. How cliche is that?  My dream is to meet Rupert Grint, and I'm forever jealous of my friend who got to hug Tom Felton last week. Oh, and my name's Jordy.

Favourite Genre? Next Generation, hands down! Romance works too. And when they're combined, they make for the best of fics!

Ships? No angry mobs, capiche? But I love Rose/Scorpius! Oh and Dramione.

Activity on the forums? I used to be a beta, a dueler and SBBC member but I had to give up all three! Writing's my only activity right now.

Best HP Book? Deathly Hallows, without a doubt. It didn't disappoint me, and I loved the ending. PoA comes in second.

Favourite story of mine? The Gryffindor Gang holds a special place in my heart... it's my first fic, and I feel like I know each character individually.

Favourite non-HP book? The 'Tomorrow' Series by John Marsden, Pride and Prejudice, The Hunger Games.

Favourite movie? Pretty much any classic Disney movies. Not the lame ones they come up with nowadays, but all-time favourites like The Lion King, The Little Mermaid and ALADDIN! Not Beauty and the Beast. I still find that a little creepy.

Favourite TV shows? Veronica Mars, Glee, Avatar: The Last Airbender. An interesting combination.

Music/bands? I love crappy radio music. Because it's too catchy. Therefore, I am brainwashed. Don't really care though! Love Ed Sheeran, Foster the People, Gotye, Jessie J and Grouplove, but for some odd reason, going through a Justin Timberlake phase.

Cat or dog? Cat.

Stories coming soon? Well, Saving Dominique is in its early stages of production, but I'm really confident about its chances. I've got a Dramione fic and a James/Lily fic that are both no closer to being finished than my maths assignment.

So, please read my stories, leave a comment and or just PM me on the forums, capiche? ~ Jordy

Great story! I was still hoping for some Weasley reactions to Drinny. Anyway, thanks for filling in some of my time on a rainy day!

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked the story. Yes, there's a whole untold tale there ... just imagine Molly's reaction to a casual 'Oh, Mum? I'm engaged to Draco Malfoy.' It would be loud, no doubt... :)

Bahaha, loved this chapter. Hilarious plot combined with teenage stuff and magic! Tehehe. Update soon!

Author's Response: Aww, thank you! I'm really happy you liked this, and that you like the plot! I wasn't sure that people would enjoy it too much, and when it's predecessor "Don't Leave Just Yet" was discussed by the SBBC--while I was a part of it, haha--I was really scared for this one as well. but I'm very happy you enjoyed it. As for the "teenage stuff" (XD) I try to keep my characters as real as possible while still keeping the in the HP universe. Basically, I picture my friends with magic powers :) But I'll update as soon as I can...which is a bit up in the air, as my beta has exams coming up! {BeccA}

This is one of the most beautiful romances I've read for a very, very long time. It's just so... sweet, as well as captivating, and definately addictive!

"There's a reason they call it falling in love" - such a good line to end it on! I was so disappointed to have to stop reading; I could have read this fic for hours and still be immersed in it. Good luck with it, and I hope that another chapter appears very soon!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I am glad it is holding your interest, as it certainly has mine at the moment! That is wonderful to hear :)

Kissing the Joy as it Flies by Equinox Chick

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Seamus Finnigan only asked Lavender Brown to the Yule Ball because he was pretty sure Angelina Johnson would say no. They'd have a drink, a dance, and a laugh - that's all. Dean might be after a snog from a girl, but Seamus wasn't bothered.

But then Lavender appeared in the common room, in a swirl of a dress, and he was lost.

This is Equinox Chick of Hufflepuff and this is my entry in the February Love Challenge - category First Love - over at the Great Hall on MNFF beta boards.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling. Is anyone shocked by that announcement?

I need to thank Natalie (hestiajones) for beta'ing this fic and being generally amazing and VERY supportive whilst I wrote this.

Thanks also to Emma (Amortentia x) for filling me in on Irish boyspeak.

Finally, the title for this story is a tweaked line from Eternity by William Blake.

Hey Carole,
Brilliant one-shot here! I don't quite get the ending though... Seamus doesn't marry Lavender, but does he still have feelings for her? How did you intend it to be portrayed?

Haha, I'm having a hard time adjusting to this. In my Potterworld, Seamus ends up marrying Lavender, his original Hogwarts sweetheart... young love. Kind of like that awful cliche in American movies! Plus, in my Next-Gen fic I've got S and L having three kids, including one set of twins, whom one of is one of my main characters.

Oh yeah, I really hope another chapter of Lavender, blue is coming our way! *hint hint*. But seriously, I understand the deadlines thing. Its a chaotic life we lead sometimes, isn't it?

Author's Response: Ah, well, in my world she never marries Seamus because of a certain Mr Zabini(nd I haven't finished Lavender Blue yet, so I can't tell you if she marries anyone - ha ha ) The end of this fic is that he does still have feelings for her - not necessarily romantic - but he appreciates a good looking girl. There's one more chapter of Lavender blue btw - that's all. And then I think I'll cry when it ends. Thank you so much for the review~Carole~

Slytherin's Weasley by Tariel

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Dominique Weasley is sorted into Slytherin, breaking the longest lasting Weasley tradition in living memory: not being sorted into Slytherin. Dominique is sly and street-wise with a healthy thirst for knowledge. Her first year at Hogwarts is destined for adventure: Dominique may be a Slytherin, but she is also a Weasley, with the inherited knack for breaking rules, usually without getting caught.

The Name of the Rose by Jormund Elver

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Rose Weasley has had a rather unremarkable first four years at Hogwarts. Apart from the agony of being the very average daughter of a very extraordinary mother, Hermione Granger, Rose has never had much to complain about, being content to sleep through lessons and sketch in her free time. Life has settled into a comfortable routine when an evening walk in Hogsmeade reveals a danger that may prove too much even for her Uncle Harry to deal with. An experiment gone horribly right and a mission gone horribly wrong thrusts her right into the vortex of the gathering maelstrom ... and Rose is now left with some tough choices to make to save herself and the rest of the wizarding world from the mystic eastern power that threatens them all.

I'm very impressed so far with your first chapter! I loved the first one, and I was happy to see that the sequel followed shortly afterwards. This one looks very suspenseful, and I'm looking forward to reading the rest!

Author's Response: Well, it feels good to be starting on the next story, even if I still don't have all the details planned out. I hope you will continue to read and review.

Dancing Queen by Equinox Chick

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: With the loss of their favourite professor to the Death Eaters, Sirius Black declares that they need to commemorate her life in a 'Muggleish' way. So the Marauders decide to escape the confines of Hogwarts for an evening, accompanied by four Gryffindor girls. But can a drink, a dance and an infuriatingly catchy song really help them to forget?

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling and neither am I Bjorn or Benny from ABBA.

This story was written for an MWPP class last year. The exercise was to write a songfic paying particular attention to the era (late 70's).

The Smell of You by MagEd

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: The more time passes, the more James falls in love with her. Told in seven scenes, this is how James and Lily became James and Lily. *one-shot*
Reviewer: U-No-Poo Signed
Date: 05/02/10 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Aww! What a sweet songfic! I completely loved the seven "smells" of Lily - it's original. I also happen to LOVE Hey, Soul Sister by Train. I listened to it on repeat through the whole one-shot.

Your characterisation of James and Lily was written perfectly. You managed to capture a person somewhere between Hermione and Ginny for Lily, and I loved that person. James turned from arrogant, thinking LIly would say yes automatically, to falling deeply more in love with her as the story progressed. He turned into a sweet, kind, more respectful guy, with still having his daredevil characteristics and a good sense of humor.

You write J/L fics so brilliantly! I simply love "Someone to Watch Over Me". Keep up your great writing!

~ Jordana :)

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I really wanting to show James growing up without having to say it explicitly, so I'm glad you could see that and enjoyed it :) And I definitely imagine Lily as a mix of Hermione and Ginny, so it's good to know I conveyed that idea!

The Dragon Does the Tickling by jenniferes

Rated: Professors •
Summary: After the war, Hermione returns to Hogwarts to complete her seventh year of studies as Head Girl, only to find Draco Malfoy has been appointed Head Boy. Her life is further complicated by the fact that Headmistress McGonagall is strongly encouraging Malfoy and her to attend one of the three wizarding universities in Europe after they graduate from Hogwarts. The story starts HG/RW, but the focus is on the development of HG/DM.
