Hey, everyone.

I'm Kate. I'm just your average 22-year-old girl. I love writing, and I absolutely adore Harry Potter, so you put two and two together, and you get this.

I love the James/Lily genre; it's my favorite because there's so much left to the imagination
I'm also a Harry/Hermione 'shipper' [oh, how I detest that word!], even though it'll never happen, but I've just never been able to picture Ron and Hermione together...it's too weird.

Some things you might be interested in knowing:
1) I will keep a running tally of how my stories are getting along here, once the whole process starts going...so if you want to know, just look.
2) My favorite part of writing is writing emotions. I love creating thoughts and feelings for my characters...fleshing them out, instead of making them all action. I like to think it shows in the finished product.
3) As you will come to notice, I tend to make numbered lists. A lot.

But for now, we all just have to sit and wait for the lovely administrators to validate my submissions...I've been having trouble with that...the whole validation thing. But as they say, patience is a virtue.

Stories So Far
1 - Just Sand and Water - This is intended to be the first part of a mostly James/Lily-centric 'Marauder Era' series of stories...as of right now, it's looking to be fairly long, but I do have the whole thing planned out. Chs 1 [prologue] - 7 are validated. Ch 8 is waiting for validation, as of the moment.

Stay tuned!

The Power Of Suggestion by FriendsOfSnape

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: "Be careful what you wish for," the old adage goes. So what happens when Hogwarts is under a spell where what you say is what you get?

Chappie 14 is UP! And while it is the end, let us not be sad, but instead read the insanity that has driven so many to review and nearly wet themsleves with delight.

Harry Potter and the Needed One by king

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

This chapter covers the trip to London on the Hogwarts Express after Dumbledore’s funeral. Why are Professors McGonagall and Flitwick on the train? Why is Hermione crying on someone else’s shoulder? What is Percy Weasley up to?

i like your story
i especially love your author's notes, because i too think it's a ridiculous idea for Hermione and Ron to be together
some of the other H/H stories make it rather hard to picture them together, but yours does it very well. i look forward to reading your sequel

Author's Response: Hi kbell! Thanks for the nice review! One of the common arguments that Harry and Hermione wouldn\'t make a good couple is that they are too different. The same people that make that argument will then turn around and argue that Ron and Hermione are perfect for each other because they are complete opposites. Frankly, I think Harry and Hermione have a lot of things in common and they work together very well. When Ron is out of the mix, they can bounce serious ideas off each other, disagree, and still spend the rest of the evening \"amicably\" (see the return to Hogwarts after Christmas in HBP). The first girl Harry ever loved was his mother. I think Hermione is a lot more like that bossy Prefect, master potion making, Muggleborn witch, than Ginny, even if Ginny does have a superficial physical resemblence to Lily.

Last Chance by PheonixAnimagus

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: As Lily and James head into their final year at Hogwarts, some of Lily's feelings for James change. And will Voldemort, becoming ever stronger, change the fates of Lily and her friends? He will kill whoever gets in his way in his rise to power, and Lily and James could be their only hope for stopping him. Alternates POV of Lily/James. Has been edited a lot recently from its original posting.

A Few Detentions and A Story by LaneTechFreshie

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: James Potter: Marauder. Lily Evans: Prefect. They're both seventh years at Hogwarts. They're also about to have a pretty interesting year--complete with a few detentions, pranks, confusion, and laughter--in which they get through school, make some trouble and maybe, just maybe, sort out their feelings for each other.

Thanks to all you who have made it possible for this story to be in the Top Tens. It was a very happy moment when I first saw my story on the list, and I love being able to go back and see it there now. Still. Yay!

Throughout the latter half of 2010, and the first half of 2011, I re-edited this story. The changes were mostly to fix stray (and annoying) grammar and spelling errors, but also to rework some plot points in an effort to stay truer to canon. I also updated the style; having written this story so long ago, my writing has definitely developed (and I would say gotten better), so I edited to reflect that. (I apologize for the errors that were in the story before all this editing. I found them immensely distressing when I reread my chapters. Heartbreaking, really.)

Big “thank yous” go to the three people who helped edit/nitpick the first edition of this novel: violagirl, fairiesandcream, and Omagus.
And yes, this story is up on Fanficition.net under the penname: Io.Sono.Emilia.
Of course, as a disclaimer, I’m not JK Rowling. The Potterverse does not belong to me, but I am in it and love it.

I don't know if you noticed but:
"James, Remus and Sirius were adamant in keeping the hex on Sirius- at least until they were getting ready to leave for home." Sirius wanted to keep the hex on himself
:)
BTW - I liked the whole Montana idea...very creative

Author's Response: *GASP*! Thanks for pointing that out! That\'s happened a couple times. OI. Thank you, again. I\'ll got change that now. I\'m glad you liked the Montana bit; I did too. :-)

Turning Saints Into the Sea by miss patil

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: James Potter is running out of time to win the heart of Lily Evans. In a last attempt to make her his, he formulates a secret plan.

Will the whole thing blow up in his face? . . . Or will Lily have some secrets of her own?

question...
how do you get your astericks in the center like that? cause when i try, everything moves and i don't know why

and i probably didn't spell astericks right, but who really cares

Author's Response: It\'s spelled asterisk but the way you put the asterisks in the center is * * * in the file. If that doesn\'t show up in the review, spaced out it is < c > * * * < / c >. I hope that helped. ~SM

hey...I absolutely love your story... your characterizations are fun to read!

but anyway...I don't know if you're aware of this, but there's an incomplete sentence in this chapter...where Lily and James are walking back from Hogsmeade... "Lily shivered as an icy gust of " ring a bell?

Anyway, keep up the great work!

Author's Response: Thank you, I\'m glad you like the way I write the characters...I think I like writing them just as much as you like reading them!

Oopsie! I\'ll be fixing that ASAP. Thanks for letting me know, though. One day, I\'ll go through and fix all they typos in the story.

I hope.

Author's Response: let\'s just pretend I put those preaks in the right places. Like this:

oh, how sweet

i really enjoyed reading that, but you could've taken it a bit farther if you wanted to
like with an epilogue or something

but it was still really good

Author's Response: Well, I could have written more! Believe me, it was hard to stop when I did. Maybe someday... It really is a nice compliment that you want more, so thank you! And thanks for reviewing. I really appreciate it!

That was really sweet...slightly sad, but still really sweet. I loved the tone you wrote with throughout the whole story.

I never thought of the situation this way before. What a great angle to tackle the James-and-Lily story from.

Author's Response: Thank you!
