Hi guys!
I'm just getting ready to submit a novel-length fic, but exams keep getting in the way and I don't want to start writing without knowing that I can update regularily.

Lately, I've been really getting into a cool shoji manga series called 'Fruits Basket'. It's SO COOL! If any of you reading this want something with a complex and intruiging plotline and amazing pictures, check out your local library!

The Poetry of Severus Snape by Zetera

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: A poem which contains revelations of a painful past and present. Short and sweet.
Reviewer: charlie_the_moose Signed
Date: 06/28/07 Title: Chapter 1: The Poetry of Severus Snape

Wow. Poetry of a tormented soul.
Hmmm. I especially like this because it makes me think - who he fears could be many people, and the cause of the pain could also be from many different sources. I wonder if the 'poison' is the Unbreakable Vow?
Charlie. *deep in thought*

Author's Response: I like your take on this poem, interesting insight there as this was written in 2004, long before the release of HBP. Still though, it\'s nice to see that it can be taken through many different perspectives!

An Exercise in Pointlessness by lunafish

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Snape has some unfinished business with Dumbledore.

Submitted by lunafish of Ravenclaw in response to the extra credit challenge "Letters to Heaven." Posted before DH.
Reviewer: charlie_the_moose Signed
Date: 06/28/07 Title: Chapter 1: An Epistle to Dumbledore

Wow - a very succinct and in-character monologue/descriptive text about SS.
Makes me wonder...
It does seem a shame that people tend to end up in two camps - SS is either a faultless victim of his situation or an evil, twisted murderer. It seems that you have avoided both of these very well, accepting that he is both at fault and at the same time innocent of his crimes.
If you do happen to write any more SS, I for one would be very willing to read it.
Charlie.

Map Making by black_ink

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: MWPP. Two-shot (only two parts). Its night and there’s nothing to do. So Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs decide to put their knowledge of the rooms, tunnels, and corridors of Hogwarts together and make a map; The Marauder’s Map. But what spells did they use? How did they come up with such an idea? Join them in Gryffindor Tower…

A nice little two-shot of your take on the creation of the marauders map. Thank you for not making Peter seem a completely thick, spineless hero-worshipper - There had to be at least one quality that attracted the others to him. Maybe he was the one with the widersweeping brainwaves and understated intelligence? The others have many brilliant little ideas, he has the one that brings it all together?
Anyways, good luck with whatever you're wrighting at the moment.
Charlie;)

Author's Response: Thanks!! I\'m writing A Different Road II: Influence of a Diary, in case you want to check it out. ~Sara

Understanding by lunafish

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Severus Snape has survived the war, and the outcome for himself is nothing like he expected it would be. Posted prior to DH.
Reviewer: charlie_the_moose Signed
Date: 06/28/07 Title: Chapter 1: Understanding

Another, if alternate, bit of your SS literature.
I do like how much depth you give to your characters - their personalities are all shades of grey, not motionless blacks and whites.
Charlie.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for the reviews--I really appreciate your thoughts on my characterization; you seem to see just what I was hoping to show!

What Follows Betrayal by lunafish

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Having betrayed one of his masters, Severus Snape must now justify his actions to the other. References to character death and torture, but nothing explicit. HBP Spoilers.
Reviewer: charlie_the_moose Signed
Date: 06/28/07 Title: Chapter 1: What Follows Betrayal

I do like your SS one-shots - I think that (if you ever were to write one) you would be the perfect person to write about his life after the murder of Prof. Dumbledore.
Charlie ;)

Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin by fawkes_07

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: This is an alternate version of Book Seven. Harry reluctantly returns to Hogwarts to train with a new DADA teacher, one appointed in specifically for Harry in Dumbledore's will. As the rest of the Wizard World reacts to Dumbledore's defeat, Harry develops the skills he needs to fulfill the Prophecy--including mastery of the Kedavra curse.

Mysteries are explored along the way, particularly the "missing 24 hours" from 1981--the span of time between Hagrid taking Baby Harry from the ruins of Godric's Hollow on Halloween Night, and his arrival to hand off Baby Harry on Privet Drive the following night. The Veil Room in the Department of Mysteries is also revisited. A traitor is uncovered, and Dumbledore's wisdom comes into question. And even when all goes as planned, things are not all they seem.

Just a note - in Britain, we are all given a very thorough education throughout primary school in History, especially about the second world war and Hitler. It would be inconceivable for Hermione, a studious and keen girl, not to know quite a lot about him (students are encouraged to read around the subjects that they learn), and Harry would have been incredibly hard pressed to not remember even basic facts about the Holocaust, Nazis and anti-semitism. All british primary schools cover the second world war in great detail - not gory detail, though, that comes in secondary school - and therefore even a nine year old could recount numerous facts about Hitler and the Nazis.
Sorry for the lecture ;)
Charlie

Author's Response: That\'s OK. That part was actually aimed more toward my son (whom this story is for) because he\'s only somewhat familiar with WWII. That was actually my opportunity to talk a little about it with him.

Conviction by POTCgirl1337

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

I kinda liked this story, in an odd sorta way. I think that a novel length fic is just begging to be made out of this. Nudge, nudge...
Anyway, I read in your bio that you also like the Tortall books and POTC. WOW! SNAP! If you like these, I would strongly recommend a shoji manga series called 'Fruits Basket'. It fits into the general genre of most of the stuff that you like to read. If you have time, they're probably in your local library.
Anyways, I'm off to read 'IRSaW' now, so byeeeeeee...
Charlie ;)

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and I\'m glad you liked it! I\'m not sure If I would be able to turn this into a novel-length fic, ther just isn\'t enough substance, you know? I\'ve never been a big fan of Manga, (probably becuase I never took the time to read very many), but the next time I\'m at the library (when am I NOT at the library?) I\'ll be sure to check them out. Thanks for the tip! Hope you Enjoy IRSaW!

Draco, The Babysitter by mgle_teacher

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: After a potion goes awry, Draco finds himself as the newly appointed babysitter of one Hermione Granger, age: 4. As if that wasn't humiliating enough, his wand is confiscated by Potter and he is forced to do everything the dreaded Muggle way.

Note to my readers: This story has been on hiatus forever due to a variety of factors. I do hope to finish it some day, but don't hold your breath. Also, this is NOT a Dramione nor will I change it to be one. Lastly, I am in the process of rewriting this story so bear with me.

I really want to read the end now - why is Harry such a jerk? He's acting like he has a rod stuck up his %^*.
Erin

Author's Response: Harry is a jerk \'cause I love dark!Harry. I\'d imagine Harry wouldn\'t be all that nice to Draco, if they were in such a situation, but eh. I don\'t know. >> Thanks for your review.

Oooh - evil. I especially like the little bit of humanity at the end - he's not yet the monster he will be. Nice.
Charlie ;)

Author's Response: Heh, no, he\'s not completely inhuman yet, although he\'s well on his way. Thanks for the review. :D

I Destroy by Sirenny

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Slowly it was rebuilt from the same node, from the same tiny green spark that hovered at the core of the spell as he fed it power. Power not just to destroy the thing, but to destroy all things, all the things that made him old and feeble and slowly withered him away; all the things that crippled and pained him. And the words formed with the energies as he manipulated them, churning endlessly as they sought what they required to fulfil his bidding. Mimicking the languages of old, learning from those from which it grew until it had a purpose of its own. Avada Kedavra, I destroy as I speak.

'intriguingly'- this is the wrong tense. If Ginny is interested, she would be 'intruiged'. Only if what she was saying was intruiging would this word be used.
Charlie ;)

Author's Response: I think you mean Hermione, not Ginny, but thanks anyways! I\'ll keep this in mind in future.

Anyways, I'm off to read all your other stories now, so byeeeee for now!

The Hundredth Time by MrsRuebeusHagridDursley

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: I original wrote this poem for my poetry class over on the Boards, but I really liked it, and wanted to submit it here!

When I wrote it I was thinking about how Ginny would feel a while after her break-up, but, I suppose it could be read from the perspective of anyone after that kind of break up.

Oh, and about the warning. No one actually commits suicide, but they think about it.

I really have no words to express what this poem makes me feel... other than that I've printed this out and stuck it up on my wall.
I may go and have a good cry now. It's so brilliant, and simple but complex.
Just... wow.
Charlie.

Author's Response: Oh my gosh, that has got to be one of the nicest reviews I ever gotten! I\'m glad you thought this was so good.

The Grand Order of the Crooked Noses by Eowyn89

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: I do believe many of you have been curious to know as to how my nose came to be quite so crooked. What an odd thing to wonder, I tell you, but none the less, I will comply. It is quite an entertaining tale to say the least, occurring on two different occasions during my younger days. I, Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, write this in my own hand, to satisfy all those who need to practice quenching their curiosities for more appropriate matters.
