wow. thats really original!
in a good way, of course. :)
That was random. Really really funny and good...and random.
Nice username. :-)
Author's Response: Thank you. And thank you. I love randomness. And also thanks for my first ever review. :D
I really like how you showed everyone's reactions (including Lily and Snape, who are often forgotten). Can't wait for the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks heaps for your review! I\'ll post the next chapter as soon as I can!
- Merope Gaunt
Ha ha I loved that! Especially the part about the "flaming pop-tart". Hilarious!
Author's Response: Thank you! ^_^
Ha ha I loved that! Especially the part about the "flaming pop-tart". Hilarious!
By the way, does the pop-tart thing actually work?
Author's Response: The pop-tart thing DOES work, but I wouldn\'t recommend you try it unless you have a spare toaster that won\'t upset your mother if you blow it up. And make sure to say that it WASN\"T ME AT ALL who put that dreadful idea into your head!
I know, I've already reviewed this several times, but I felt it necessary to add that I have (finally!) memorised these songs.
And at my voice lesson today, where I was *supposed* to be singing (from memory) several PotO songs, I unknowingly mixed up the lyrics.
Needless to say, my instructor got a good laugh at:
Ronald Weasley, you cannot save a thing!
You drop the ball
Can't save at all
We adore you
Thanks to you, your team will lose every game!
Your fellow Gryffindors abhor you.
Ronald Weasley, you were born in a bin.
Stink up the pitch
With your Quidditch
As we sing!
You cannot block even one measly ring,
Oh, Ronald Weasley's our king!
But she said she was worrying about my mental health when I sang:
HARRY:
Softly, swiftly, feel my fangs caress you.
Light and quick....
VOLDEMORT:
Man, it's fun to possess you!
I'm here in your mind!
Yeah... she didn't even bother to stop me and tell me what I had sung until the end of the lesson. ^^;
- Katie (is embarassed to go to her next voice lesson)
Author's Response: Oh, you actually did that? ^_^ Hahaha, sorry for laughing at your pain, but I\'m imagining her face when you sang \"Man, it\'s fun to possess you.\" Incidentally, can you imagine the Phantom of the Opera saying the words \'fun\' or \'man\' in a surfer-dude kind of way?
*stands up*
*applauds*
Great job, Schmergo! Sorry for the rather hasty review (I have to go find a shrubbery for the Knights Who Say Ni), but I'll be back later!
By the way, once again you had me singing out loud...
- Katie
Author's Response: Oh, thank you, Katie! I hope you find that shrubbery... just last week, I had to cut down the tallest tree in the forest with a herring. Dreadful, dreadful...
Schmergo, you are delightfully insane (yes, that is a compliment. ^^; ).
That was hilarious (as always)! Imagining Volders singing made me laugh... probably because I imagined him singing in Soprano.
I actually was singing the songs, rather than reading them, as I read... my family now thinks I've gone insane. ^^;
But seriously, great job! I can't WAIT for Act 2!
Author's Response: Hehe, thanks! I personally always take \'delightfully insane\' as a compliment. You know, I\'ve always imagined Voldemort\'s speaking voice to sound like Michael Crawford (but oddly, he sounds like Yzma from \"The Emperor\'s New Groove\" when I read/write fanfiction about him) but I like to sing these songs, too!
OK, I already left a review. *looks down* But I just couldn't resist adding that my favorite song is The Dreams. I think it's because whenever I read/sing it, I picture Voldemort and Harry on the boat in the underground lake. It makes for a VERY funny mental image.
All of them, however, are brilliant.
Author's Response: Aw man, hearing you said that made me think that I should save that song for HBP, for the Horcrux Cave Boat Extravaganza! By the way, you had no idea how giddy I was when a certain chandelier got dropped in a certain book by a certain elf...
Yupp, I actually did that. ^^; I wasn't really looking at her face, though: She has this mirror she likes you to look in when you sing (no idea why).
And I can't imagine the phantom saying that, but for some reason I'm getting a vivid mental image of Volders in a hibiscus-print shirt, pink Bermuda shorts, and reflective sunglasses saying 'Duuuude!' ^_^
And I was going to post myself singing your songs (as you requested) on YouTube, but my mother won't let me because with the video I took you'd see my face.
- Katie
P.S. Was this spam? I don't like spam!
Author's Response: Harharharharhar....I think this may be spam, but that\'s all right, just feel free to send a PM or an email next time.
LOTS of singers on youtube just upload a sound file and use a plain picture for the background... there\'s this guy who does Wicked songs, and it\'s just a sound recording with the camera focused on a picture of the Wicked album cover. He wasn\'t aloud to show his face online, either (nor am I. But there is a really STUPID video online with my voice that my friend uploaded. Let\'s just say I was being Snape. Badly.)
*is still giving standing ovation*
I'm back from my meeting with the Knights Who Say Ni, (by the way, such a shame you had to chop down the tree with a herring) and here were my favourite lines:
Free from Umbridge-"hem hem!"
The Dark Lord's face holds no horror for me now,
It's in his soul where the true distortion lies.
It sealed his fate, though! Aren’t we lucky…
Well, this is boring. Kill the boy.
Learn to be known as
Reason to cope
Our only hope… have fun!
For some reason, those made me laugh. :D And also, the last song gave me THE mental image of the YEAR:
Daniel Radcliffe in a black dress holding a rose in the Veil room. :)
Great job, I'm looking forward to the High School Musical spoof! :)
Author's Response: 0_o Oh, wow. Dan Radcliffe in the white dress singing Think of Me, then in the black dress singing Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again (which incidentally, my brother calls \"Wishing We Could All Drink Beer Again.\" Corniness runs in my family.) That IS the mental image of the year.
Really dark, but really well-written.
Not sure if Voldemort would have actually seen his mother (does he deserve it?) but everything else seems fitting.
Also, one more question: Why did Bellatrix not help Voldemort? She went to, but then she kind of changed her mind...
Really good fic overall.
I look forward to more from you!
- Katie
Author's Response: Thanks for your comments! Well, I don\'t know whether he deserved to see his mother, but I wanted to show that she at least still loved him, and also that it was his lack of HER love that was really the source of his problems. As for Bella, I think she finally saw him as he really was (not the idealized, all-powerful person she had thought him to be) and it repelled her.
Can't... breathe... need to... review...
*gasps* I still can't breathe, and my face is steadily turning purple, because I am laughing so hard.
HILARIOUS!!!
- Katie
Author's Response: I\'m really glad you enjoyed it so much! Thanks for the review!
*is back*
*can breathe again - just barely*
By the way, here's the address of the Sparkly-Poo thread:
http://fanfiction.mugglenet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12067&page=6
And the song you wrote... *bursts into laughter*
- Katie
P.S. I actually FELL ON THE FLOOR LAUGHING (Caps Lock overdose! Eep!) after I was finished... my family is now calling a mental instituation. ^^;
Author's Response: Thanks for the link; it actually turned out to be on page two, but it was the right thread. Thanks for your help!
I picked up on it, wonderful Stubby! I loved the "REMORSE" thing. (I do that sometimes, but I never do it right... heh.)
This was a really powerful poem. I never would have thought about Dumbledore's feelings about his mistakes before I read this. You've forced me to think of a character in an entirely different light: And for that, I applaud you.
- Katie
Author's Response: Aw! Thank you, Katie! *blushes* You\'ve made me feel all warm and tingly inside! *applauds you back for such a wonderful review*
-Stubby
Wow, I really like this so far! It's a really good portrayal of Hermione's feelings throughout the entire camping debacle. The descriptions of her emotions when she had to wear the Horcrux were especially well done... I felt like I was there with her, sharing her anger and her pain.
Can't wait for the next chapter!
- Katie
Alright, Schmergo, I'm typing this from the hospital. You've finally done it: You've made me laugh so hard I *literally* split my sides and I had to have surgery. Hope you're happy.
Anyway, on a cheerier note, here are my favourite lines:
Both:
Ohhh, I knew that something was wrong!
Ginny:
Yes, worse than this song!
***
(Lee:
[CENSOOOORED!]
McGonagall:
JORDAN!)
I read through this *really* quickly though, so I might be back with more later.
And my favourite song was What I’ve Been Looking For... all of what Tom said was making me laugh so hard that... well... you know what happened.
- Katie
P.S. No I didn't *really* split my sides, but I *did* laugh so hard that I couldn't breathe for about five minutes and I almost passed out.
Author's Response: Katie! I\'m so glad you thought it was funny! I\'m sorry I almost made you have an Elizabeth Swann moment, though. I was scared for a moment when I saw \"I\'m typing this from the hospital!\"
And I feel compelled to mention that all the mini-spoofs in your review responses are *HILARIOUS*!
Oh no, I'm laughing so hard... my sides are splitting again. :D
- Katie
Author's Response: Awww, thanks! Do you think I should do a Harry-spray spoof?
Yes, Schmergo, you should REALLY do a "Harry-spray" (to borrow your word) spoof... and a Wicked one would be funny too, especially with Book 6... eventually, you could do all the books! :D
- Katie
P.S. Ha ha about the "Elizabeth Swann moment". That made me laugh so hard (again).
P.P.S. "My, SOMEONE'S feeling a bit morbid today!" I started choking on my gum there... your stories are hazardous to my health!
P.P.S. But that doesn't mean I'll stop reading, reviewing, laughing, and squee-ing at them! :)
Author's Response: Oh, man! You actually CHOKED while reading my post suggesting that the reader tried CHOKING? Oh, the irony!
You know how in the review below this one, you mentioned that the reviewer shold have printed out the lyrics?
I did. (And I also did for the Phantom spoof.) I randomly sang those during school until I had them memorised (which I now do.)
But so this review isn't spammy, I actually *did* have a question. In the last song, everyone is mentioning "Slyth'rin's vault," but it wasn't a vault, it was a Chamber... OF DOOM! (Secrets. I meant secrets.)
- Katie (is having a Schmergo spoof sing-along - join in! :D )
Author's Response: Heheheh, I\'m singing as I type this! And my sister is trying to do homework!
As for the vault... eh, not much rhymes with chamber. And they\'re both big locked rooms, huh? (Give me some slack here, it was hard to write! ^_^)
