I'm Helaina (not that big of a secret, I know) and...I write things! I didn't used to publish my things, but somebody said I should and directed me here, so there ya go. I have several other plans for fanfics in the future, but for now I'm sticking with "The Path of a Star."

Um...stuff about me. I'm unique. I like all the stuff normal people don't like: bugs, reptiles, books, alone time. I also don't like things normal people (well...normal girls) do like: shopping, clothes, dogs, or anything pink. I used to have a wide variety of pets, including at one time a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach named Egg. However, I've settled with 2 kittens, 2 adult cats, and a pet snake. I simply LOVE the ocean and everything about it, and I'm quite an intelligent person XD. Only book wise; I have the common sense and logical thinking of a flea :P I get a new set of favorite words every once in a while. The current ones are "loquacious," "uncouth," and "surreptiously."

Well, that's all for now folks! If I come up with more, I'll add it. As usual, when I get home from school, my brain turns OFF. Ta!

Dedicated Watcher by angel_charlie

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: I don't think anyone ever expected a sixteen-year-old moron to step foot into Hogwarts. Not one as beautiful accident prone as me at any rate. I'm Rosy and my role in the student body of Hogwarts is to make a fool of myself -and, surprisingly, I live up to that role! But I'm here for you, I risk my neck every minute of every day to bring you the latest updates of what the Marauders are up to - you know you want to take a look. I reckon this is the only chance you will get to read a young girls diary with permission!

So come on innocent fan fic reader, get turning my pages! Oh! By the way, paper cuts aren't included in the price pack - you get those for free :)

The Dark Lord's Blog by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: What does Lord Voldemort do in his spare time? Well, that's an excellent question. Who would have known that the Dark Lord has a blog? (He also has a loyal following of readers, most of whom are Death Eaters and who post their comments.) Voldemort dispenses advice on everything from murder methods to germ protection to Power Rangers to shoes, and gives an account of the life of an evil overlord. But is he posting too much personal information online? And will Harry read it and find out more about the Dark Lord than Voldemort ever intended? Read and see.

WARNING: Extremely OOC behaviour from almost all.

The Epic Tale of the Hogwarts Food-fight by Gin_Drinka

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: "Some mistakes are too much fun to make just once."

After Lily Evans, Head Girl of Hogwarts, starts a food-fight with James Potter, Head Boy of Hogwarts, they are both given detention for the rest of the year, and are assigned a 'detention journal', which the staff say will help to settle their 'overwhelming and disturbing differences'. We have come across Lily's journal; her take on why the whole affair ever started, her intriguing relationship with one ‘supreme git of the galaxy’, the extents to which she will go for revenge and where it will lead her...

"And if for some unknown reason you come across this, Potter, and the paragraph above does not manage to penetrate your unusually thick head and convince you of my stupendous dislike of you, I hope the following sentence helps: I HATE YOU!"

Things Aren't Always Black and White by padfootsgirl1981

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:
2009 QSQs: Runner-up: Best Romance - Other Character Story

Add together one ladies' man, one Quidditch player, one werewolf, and one soon-to-be traitor. Then, mix in one imaginative idiot, one fiery redhead, one clever Ravenclaw, and one blonde artist. Stir counterclockwise until trouble occurs, and you are dealing with one of the best-loved group of friends in Hogwarts history. Follow the story of the four Marauders and four equally troublesome girls. See them deal with their first encounters of love, sorrow, heartache… and Death Eaters. How will these future Order members cope with the ordeals that life throws at them? Will love blossom in what was once thought a highly unlikely place? What do you do when the person you care about most in the world doesn’t seem to notice you at all? Will a well-kept secret shatter the foundations of a seven-year friendship? Follow the lives of these friends through their last year at school to the dramatic final battle with Lord Voldemort two decades later.

Warnings are for later chapters, and any sexual situations are very minor.

Chapter Twenty Two: "The Snakes Strike" is in the queue. Excerpt:

Perfume filled his nostrils as Emma walked passed and Rosier’s gaze lingered on her bare, pale legs as the group headed outdoors. “Don’t you just love summer?” he inquired of Regulus, a hungry sneer lighting his face.

“This is ridiculous,” Regulus announced in a furious whisper, “we’re never going to get them alone!”

“Have faith, Black,” commanded Rosier smoothly. “Girls are well renowned for their desire for girly chats. I’m sure they’ll slip off the shackles of their chaperones soon enough.”

Author's Response: Thank you! Hehe, yeah I love that bit too, glad you found it funny!

The Cause by Pussycat123

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Marty Price works for The Cause, which involves several campaigns and petitions on a weekly basis. It has become common knowledge within Hogwarts that if you see her coming towards you with a clipboard, you should turn and walk the other way. Or perhaps deny all grasp of the English language. And if this isn’t eccentric enough, there’s also her obsessive written observations of four boys in her year, which will one day make a rather interesting book ...

Remus Lupin, meanwhile, has always been a little different, too. Poor, sweet Remus Lupin is, to the casual observer, the picture of a sensible, hard working student. However, he has three friends who have done more for him than anyone knows and they have done this because of his troubled past, troubled present and troubled future. Why the gloominess? Because Remus Lupin just so happens to be a werewolf.

So what could these two possibly have in common? And how can their stories possibly connect?

This is an awesome story! All the characters are so well thought out, even though JKR didn't give much info about Teddy's time at Hogwarts. Plus, there's a real and interesting PLOT, and the way everything turns out is so...real. There aren't just evil Slytherins and awesome Gryffindors, like most writers (including me >.

The Path of a Star by shooting_star42

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: It's not that hard being adopted...what's hard is not being able to remember anything from before...

A young girl, Estella, is found on the doorstep of a former Hogwarts student with no recollection of what happened before that. Not so bad, right?

When Estella (nicknamed Star) Cylene receives her letter for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy, her adopted mother is overjoyed. Little does she know that her shooting star is going to begin a journey that will lead her to discover who she really is, and what she can really do...and discover others who want to use her power for something other than good.

Date: 05/05/08 Title: Chapter 1: The Mysterious Letter

Well, I shall feel special and write the first review XD

This story is absolutely spiffy! Two things that are unique about it: 1) It talks about the summers between Hogwarts, not the school itself. Nobody ever really thinks about Hogwarts being just a school, but it is. And 2) The reactions of her father and sister. After all, not every Muggleborn who gets accepted to Hogwarts will have a completely supportive family. And the siblings of Muggleborns are bound to feel a lot of resentment.

A lovely story, thus far. I can't wait to see what else you come up with!

Author's Response: Thank you very much! I\'m glad someone enjoys this story and finally reviewed. :D

:O Oh...my...God...that was AWESOME! It was beautifully written, characterized extremely well, and very interesting to read. I love how you used ye-olde-English to write, even when people weren't speaking, but it wasn't boring or difficult. And how each section was a different founder's point of view, and...everything! total awesomeness!
