This is a story of what made them special.

This is a story of why it started to go wrong for The Lions of Gryffindor.

omg! i was so excited to see this story updated.. words really can't describe how excited i really was!

Anywho, I am curious to find out Soule's real motives and hopefully they come to the light soon. I also enjoyed the mention of the picture on Fabian's desk in reference to Bill, Charlie, and Percy. :]

I am so glad you updated this story. It really is one of my favorites. If only I could convince you to update Apparently Asleep (my ultimate favorite fanfiction)... just putting that out there ;] lol

Anywho, great writing as always and update lions soon. :D

Author's Response: *hides from reference to AA* Actually, I know I need to update that, I'm just struggling with everything else, atm. Glad you enjoyed this chapter and thank you for leaving a review. ~Carole~

so you're probably getting sick of me saying that this is my absolute favorite fan fiction ever...! but i'd just thought that I would mention it again. I am graduating from college this weekend and now I will have time to actually read for pleasure. I think I will continue onto reading some of your other stories as well re-reading this one and maybe (hopefully around my birthday and August) this story would be updated soon. ;]

Author's Response: I'm not sick of it, just guilt ridden because I haven;t updated - sadly -. I say sadly because I love Tonks very much and yet can't seem to speed along with this to get her to Remus ... but I will try :). In the meantime, have you read A little More Time by Pallas (its'a featured story). It is possibly the best fanfiction I've ever read, plus it's Remus/Tonks - hahhahaha. Thank you again ~Carole~

However, with two overachieving friends and a headmaster who does not even know she exists, Keedie feels that perhaps her seventh year will not be too spectacular. However, Dumbeldore sees her potential as a writer and enrols her in a simple writing course. Here, she meets the mysterious and terrifying Tom Riddle and they instantly get under one another's skin. She is drawn to his dark determination towards some unknown goal and he is fascinated by her, in every way. However, Tom's friends do not approve of Keedie and her unconventional ways and Keedie has many people trying to keep her away from the dark young man as well. Something inside tells Keedie that she can make him better, but even he assures her that this is an impossible task. But she's not one to give up easily...

"He is a dark one, Keedie. Try not to let him consume you entirely."

This story has the characters Albus Dumbledore, Armando Dippet, Moaning Myrtle, Rubeus Hagrid, Aaron Dante, Harry Potter, Ebony Abbott, Minerva McGonagall, Melena Creevey, Ollivander, Gregor Holmwood, Horace Slughorn and, of course, Tom Riddle and Keedie Dante...enjoy!

Oh my goodness what an amazing story. I actually came across your stories on my search for an Andromeda and Ted Tonks story so I unfortunately read MFF first -_- lol However with your little hints and such and to get a clear understand of the backstory of the Holmwoods, I thought I'd read MTT. Obviously not many of us Harry potter fans are a big fan of Tom Riddle and I have honestly only read one Tom Riddle love fanfiction before but I believe, like you quoted in your story, "Evil is not born, It is created." In canon, it is always mentioned that Tom Riddle never loved. I find that unrealistic even though JK Rowling explains his inability to express love is due to the fact that he was conceived from a love potion. Sometimes I feel like she may have left any type of affection towards anyone in Tom's flashbacks so that the readers never felt any pity for him as well. I highly enjoyed your story and I believe it touched on a topic that is often never mentioned and I love fanfictions like this which make me think.. "What if.." sorry for all the rambling but I saw that you like reviews so here is my attempt at one, I hope it suffices ;)

Author's Response: Thank you for a lovely paragraph and not just an emoticon. Really glad you took the time to read!

Much More Than A Game by Hypatia

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:
“Lord Voldemort has never had a friend, nor do I believe that he has ever wanted one.”
-Dumbledore, HBP, ch 13

Dumbledore was rarely wrong, only once did Lord Voldemort desire a friend. It started out as only a game, but became so much more…

This is the story of how the teenaged Tom Riddle met a unique individual and slipped from cold indifference, to affection, to friendship, to romance. Discover how even Voldemort’s cold and callow heart was once broken beyond repair. This is for anyone curious about how an imperfect love warped and twisted a corrupt young man into the Dark Lord.

I have being reading your story since my Christmas break and just finished up to chapter 19 now.
I want you say that you're an amazing writer! I love this story. It is one of my favorites. I love reading stories before the Harry potter era especially in regards to the villains to hear who they were before. I love Tom and Lydia to work it out but we all know that will never happen. But it is good to see that you portrayed Voldemort as somewhat human because I never believed in that whole he never loved fully or never had real relationships/friendships. I believe he did but went about them the wrong way and I'm glad you portray him like that :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much! :)

You mentioned liking the villain's perspective, so I'm now going to do some shameless self promotion: feel free to check out "A Woman Scorned" (the story of Walburga Black), which I think is 'technically' canon compliant and while it certainly doesn't require being read to follow Much More Than A Game, it should go a ways to explaining why Walburga Black hated the Prince family and their proposed werewolf legislation. I think the closest it comes to overlapping with this story is when Alphard Black briefly meets Tom and Lydia in Chpater 12.

I agree that it seems unlikely that Voldemort never would have felt anything for anyone, though I don't think he ever cared enough about anyone to be able to put them before himself.

Thank you for reviewing,
Hypatia

Lydia is finally turning over to the dark side. I have to admit the plan to pin Fenir and Loki against one another was rather dark. Could she possibly be more evil than Voldemort? :o

Author's Response: I agree that Lydia's plans for the Greybacks was quite dark and possibly on a level that Voldemort didn't ever really attempt. I think the reason for that would be that while Lydia's motivated by hatred and revenge, Voldemort's goal is power, but he remains fairly apathetic towards his opponents. As for which is more evil, I think that Voldemort still is in that he would torture or kill practically anyone for personal gain whereas Lydia is only targetting people who have attacked her first (although I'm certainly not trying to condone her actions). If someone had interrupted her plans, I can't imagine Lydia simply deciding that they were collateral damage, but if the same happened to Voldemort, he wouldn't think twice about killing them.

Good as always.
I want to say poor Tom, but we shouldn't pity him.

As for Tom, yeah... he really can't blame anyone but himself for how things are going.

Thanks for reviewing,
Hypatia

Omg this is my new favorite fan fic!! I like to think of how things were before harry potter especially in terms of the "villians" ;] and you sure bring voldemort to the light..

I'm really enjoying this story so please update when you get a chance. :]

Author's Response: Thank you, and thanks for reading! I also like to imagine how things were before the actual story started, which is why I love historical fics. I'll definitely continue the updates, and hopefully the future delays won't be as big as this one was.

But his friends have other ideas.

Another Disclaimer: All the chapter titles are named after films. I didn't star, write or direct any of them. And there's a good few I haven't even seen.

Author's Response: Thank you for the review and the kind words. OOOH, what fanfic are you writing? There are two more chapters (I've just posted ch 5, so 7 in total) so you should find out soon why she's marrying him. Thanks again :) ~Carole~

Blackberries by Equinox Chick

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: When the sun dies, can the shadow exist?

George had liked Angelina since they were third years sharing blackberries, but Fred had got there first.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling; I just play in her world rather too much.

This is Equinox Chick of Hufflepuff and this is my entry for Round 1 of the Character Clinic Triathlon - Major Characters.

This is also a (very) delayed birthday present for Lori (Weasley Mom) because I've been wanting to write this for her for absolute ages.

Thank you Kara and Jess for the prompts. I think I got them all in.

YIPPPEEEEEEEEE! Blackberries won the 2013 QSQ for Best Canon Romance. Thank youuuu!!!

Good as always :)
I always felt as if Fred was the stronger twin and it was nice to hear George's opinion about the situation in reference that he was living in the shadow of his brother. I also always wondered how George seemed to go on after Fred's death. Thanks for sharing your story :)

Author's Response: Thank you very much for the review. I've had this story buzzing around my head regarding Angelina for a while now, so was pleased to finally get down to write it. I feel George/Angelina get a rough ride in fanfiction because people assume she was the love of Fred's life, when it's possible she only went to the Ball with him. I enjoyed writing this, so am pleased you liked it, too. ~Carole~

Teach My Feet to Fly by Equinox Chick

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Andromeda Black is not a girl who is reckless. Risks are for the foolhardy, and she is too clever for that. But she hasn't factored Ted Tonks' persistence into the equation of her life.

And Ted wants to teach her how to fly ...

This is Equinox Chick of Hufflepuff writing for Round 2 of the Character Clinic Triathlon - Minor Characters. I chose the Music prompt.

The song that Andromeda listens to in this story is River by Joni Mitchell. It is beautiful.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling. I am not Joni Mitchell. I am someone who admires both artists greatly.

Ta lotsly to the lovely Natalie (hestiajones) who beta'd this and is a truly fabulous friend.
